Corridor of Glory: Cloud, Smoke, and Fire (Whirlwind)

CORRIDOR OF GLORY: CLOUD, SMOKE AND FIRE (WHIRLWIND) - Part 2

I. “CORRIDOR OF GLORY” INCLUDES GLORY-SMOKE

The LORD will create above every dwelling place of Mount Zion…a cloud and

smoke by day

and the shining

of a flaming fire by night. For over all the glory there will be a covering. (Isaiah 4:5)

A. The glory-smoke from the heavenly Temple will be manifest in relationship to Jerusalem’s Millennial Temple.

The

(heavenly)

temple was filled with

smoke from the glory of God

...(Revelation 15:8)

The

smoke

of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God...(Revelation 8:4)

B. The glory-smoke was manifest on God’s Mountain (Mt. Sinai) ascending to heaven.

Mount Sinai was completely in smoke

, because the LORD descended upon it in fire. Its

smoke ascended

like

the smoke of a furnace, and the

whole mountain

quaked greatly. (Exodus 19:18)

C. The glory-smoke was manifest to Isaiah in the temple.

The posts of the door were shaken...and the house was

filled with smoke

. (Isaiah 6:4)

D. The glory-smoke will be manifest in the End-Times as wonders in the heavens and earth.

I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fire and

pillars of smoke

. (Joel 2:30)

I will show wonders

in heaven above

and signs in the earth beneath: Blood and fire and

vapor of smoke

(Acts 2:19)

II. ANGELS MOVE BACK AND FORTH FROM HEAVEN TO EARTH

A. Jacob had a dream of a ladder (prophetic picture of the “Corridor of Glory”) in which angels traveled back and forth
to earth through the Gate of Heaven (Genesis 28:17). Jacob’s ladder connected the realm of heaven to the earth. Some
testify of returning from a death experience and having traveled through a “tunnel of light” that they travel through. It is
sometimes reported that the closer one gets to God’s Throne the more intense and glorious the light becomes in this
“corridor of light.” This “corridor” has possibly existed in some manner or degree with angels possibly traveling through it
as the “Gate of Heaven.”

Then he

(Jacob

) dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and

there the

angels of God were ascending and descending on it

. 13 Behold, the

LORD stood above it

and said:

"I am the LORD God of Abraham your father…the land on which you lie I will give to you and your

descendants. 14 Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth…and in your seed all the families

of the earth shall be blessed…16 Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, "Surely the LORD is in this

place, and

I did not know it.

" 17 And he was afraid and said, "How awesome is this place! This is none other

than the

House of God

, and this is the

Gate of heaven!"

…19 He called the name of that place Bethel; but the

name of that city had been Luz previously. (Genesis 28:12- 19)

Nathanael answered..., "Rabbi, You are the

Son of God

(Divine

)! You are the

King of Israel

(human

)!"... 51 He

said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter you shall see heaven open

(Corridor of Glory)

, and the

angels of God

ascending and descending

upon the Son of Man." (John 1:49-51)

While I was speaking in prayer, Gabriel...being caused to

fly swiftly,

reached me about the time of the

evening offering. 22 He informed me..., "O Daniel, I have now come forth to give you skill to understand.

At the beginning of your supplications the command went out.

..(Daniel 9:21-23)

He said,"…Daniel, for

from the first day

that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before

your God, your words were heard...13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia

withstood me 21 days

; behold,

Michael, one of the chief princes,

came to help me

...(Daniel 10:12-13)

David lifted his eyes and saw the angel of the LORD

standing between earth and heaven,

having in his hand

a drawn sword stretched out over Jerusalem. So David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell on their faces.

(1 Chronicles 21:16)

B. We must wonder if there is also a “corridor of darkness” that goes to hell included in the ideas of the “key to the
bottomless pit” being opened to the earth.

To him was given the key to the bottomless pit. 2 And

he opened the bottomless pit

, and smoke arose out of

the pit like the smoke of a great furnace. So the sun and the air were darkened because of the smoke of the

pit. (Revelation 9:1-2)

III. “CORRIDOR OF GLORY” – THE WHIRLWIND OF JESUS’ CHARIOT-THRONE

Then I looked, and behold, a

whirlwind

was coming out of the

north

a great cloud with raging fire engulfing

itself

; and

brightness

was all around it and

radiating out.

..of the midst of the

fire

. 5 From within it came...

four

living creatures...15 behold, a

wheel

(of Jesus’ Chariot-Throne)

was

on the earth

beside

living

creature... 16 The...wheels and their workings was like the color of beryl

(gold topaz)

...18 As for their rims,

they were so high they were awesome...19 When the living creatures

went

, the wheels

went

beside them;

and when the living creatures were

lifted up

from the earth, the wheels were

lifted up

. 20

Wherever

the

Spirit wanted to go,

they wen

t, because there the Spirit

went

; and the wheels were

lifted together

with them...

When those went

these went

...22 The likeness of the firmament

above

the heads of the living creatures

was like the color of an awesome crystal, stretched out

over

their heads. 24

When they went

, I heard the

noise

of their wings, like the noise of

many waters

, like the

voice of the Almighty

, a tumult like the noise of

army.

..26 And

above

the firmament over their heads was...a Throne, in appearance like a sapphire stone;

on the likeness of the throne was a likeness with the appearance of a Man

high above

it. (Ezekiel 1:4-26)

(David)

gave…refined gold by weight for the altar of incense, and for the construction of

the chariot

, that is,

the

gold cherubim

that spread their wings and overshadowed the ark of the covenant of the LORD.

(1 Chronicles 28:18)

A.        God’s glory is seen in the clouds, fire and cherubim around Jesus’ Chariot-Throne (Ezekiel 1:28) established in
context to the sapphire sea.

B.        I believe that the whirlwind of glory seen in Ezekiel 1 points to the “Corridor of Glory.” Ezekiel saw four mysterious
wheels moving on earth (Ezekiel 1:5, 15). The wheels of Jesus’ government and leadership will go forth over all the earth
as His Chariot-Throne brings all the nations under His authority. The wheels speak of the unfolding of God’s purposes in
history of the world unto the end. As Jacob’s ladder connected the two realms so does the whirlwind that Ezekiel saw
which joined God’s heavenly transcendence (dazzling beauty) to the earthly realm.

C.        Jesus’ Throne on the sapphire pavement was seen by Moses and the seventy elders (Exodus 24).

They saw the God of Israel. And there was under His feet as it were a

paved work of sapphire stone

, and it was

like the very heavens in its clarity. (Exodus 24:10)

D. This points to Jesus’ vast governmental complex called His Throne of glory (Matthew 19:28; 25:31). This Throne
includes all the lesser thrones of the resurrected saints (Revelation 20:4-6; 3:21) that are submitted to Jesus. It is a vast
governing network (governmental complex). The Throne here is not merely “the chariot,” but rather it speaks of the entire
governmental administration or reality of Jesus’ worldwide authority with His saints that is based on the counsel of the Lord.
Jesus’ Throne is His entire sphere of governmental activity within the “Corridor of Glory” and not just the chair, rather it is
His overarching seat of government.

To him who overcomes

I will grant to sit with Me on My throne

, as I also overcame and sat down with My

Father on His throne. (Revelation 3: 21)

E. The vast governmental complex includes the heavenly (north end) and the earthly (south end) dimensions. At the
north end of the governmental complex is the Father’s throne in Heaven. It is fully spiritual and heavenly without a material
dimension to it since God is Spirit (John 4:23-24). The Father’s throne and the Son’s throne are distinct. They are in perfect
eternal unity but yet distinct. The earthly end of the vast complex bottom is called God’s footstool. It the aspect of His
Throne is seen manifesting God’s authority over the earthly realm. It is called His footstool in the sense that it triumphs
over that which was made from the dust.

But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God's throne; 35 nor by the earth, for it is His

footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. (Matthew 5:34-35)

He said to me, "Son of man, this is the place of My throne and the place of the soles of My feet, where I will

dwell in the midst of the children of Israel forever.” (Ezekiel 43:7)

F. The glory-cloud in Ezekiel’s vision (Ezekiel 3:12,23; 8:4; 10:3-4, 18; 11:22-23).

G. Ezekiel saw Jesus’ Throne and glory coming to earth in the End-Times

I will set

My glory among the nations

; all the nations shall see My judgment which I have executed, and My

hand which I have laid on them. (Ezekiel 39:21)

The glory of the LORD came into the temple…5 The Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court;

and behold, the glory of the LORD filled the temple. (Ezekiel 43:4-5)

I looked, and behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD; and I fell on my face. (Ezekiel 44:4)

H. Isaiah saw Jesus’ Throne and glory coming to earth in the End-Times.

Then the moon will be disgraced and the sun ashamed;

For the LORD of hosts

(Jesus)

will reign On Mount

Zio

n and in Jerusalem and

before His elders, gloriously.

(Isaiah 24:23)

The glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and

all flesh

shall see it

together

. (Isaiah 40:5)

Arise, shine; for your light has come and the glory of the LORD is risen

upon

you. 2 For behold, the darkness

shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the LORD will arise over you, and

His glory will be

seen upon you

. 3 The

Gentiles

shall come to your light, and

kings

to the brightness of your rising.

(Isaiah 60:1-3)

Then your light shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall spring forth speedily, and your

righteousness shall go before you; the

glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard

. (Isaiah 58:8)

I. The earth will be filled with God’s glory.

Truly, as I live,

all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD

. (Numbers 14:21)

For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the

glory of the LORD

, as the waters cover the sea.

(Habakkuk 2:14)

All

the peoples see His glory. (Psalm 97:6)

His salvation is near to those who fear Him, that

glory may dwell in our land.

(Psalm 85:9)

IV. THE WHIRLWIND OF THE LORD

The LORD…will not at all acquit the wicked. The LORD has His way

in the whirlwind.

(Nahum 1:3)

Then the LORD will be

seen over them

, and His arrow will go forth like lightning. The Lord GOD will blow the

trumpet, and

go with whirlwinds

from the south. (Zechariah 9:14)

Behold, a

whirlwind of the LORD

has gone forth in fury--

A violent whirlwind!

It will fall violently on the…

wicked. 20 The anger of the LORD will not turn back until He has executed and performed the thoughts of

His heart. In the latter days you will understand it perfectly. (Jeremiah 23:19-20)

Behold, disaster shall go forth from nation to nation, and a

great whirlwind

shall be raised up from the

farthest parts of the earth. (Jeremiah 25:32)

Behold, the

whirlwind of the LORD

goes forth with fury, a

continuing whirlwind;

it will fall violently on the

head of the wicked. (Jeremiah 30:23)

When the LORD was about to take up Elijah

into heaven by a whirlwind

Then the LORD answered Job out of the

whirlwind

The voice of Your thunder was in the

whirlwind

…(Psalm 77:18)

V. HEAVENLY CHARIOTS

(David)

gave…refined gold by weight for the altar of incense, and for the construction of

the chariot

, that is,

the

gold cherubim

that spread their wings and overshadowed the ark of the covenant of the LORD.

(1 Chronicles 28:18)

The

chariots of God

are twenty thousand, even thousands of thousands; the

Lord is among them

as in Sinai,

in the Holy Place. (Psalms 68:17)

For behold, the LORD will come

with fire

and

with His chariots

ike a whirlwind

, to render His anger with fury, and

His rebuke with flames of fire. (Isaiah 66:15)

O LORD, were You displeased with the rivers, was Your anger against the rivers, was Your wrath against the

sea, that You rode on

Your horses

Your chariots of salvation

? (Habakkuk 3:8)

Suddenly a

chariot of fire

appeared with

horses of fire

, and separated the two of them; and

Elijah went up by

a whirlwind

into heaven. 12 Elisha saw it, and he cried out, "My father, my father,

THE chariot of Israel

and

its horsemen!"…13 He took up the mantle of Elijah…(2 Kings 2:11-13)

(Solomon)

also made

ten carts of bronze

; four cubits was the length of each cart, four cubits its width, and

three cubits its height. 28 And this was the design of the carts: They had panels…29 on the panels that

were between the frames were

lions, oxen, and cherubim

. And on the frames was a

pedestal on top

…

30 Every cart had four bronze wheels…31 Its opening inside the crown at the top was one cubit in diameter…

shaped like a pedestal…32 Under the panels were the four wheels…the height of a wheel was one and a

half cubits. 33 The workmanship of the wheels was like the workmanship of a

chariot wheel

…35 On the top

of the cart, at the height of half a cubit, it was perfectly round…36 on its panels he engraved

cherubim, lions,

and palm trees

Then I turned and raised my eyes and looked, and behold, four chariots were coming from between two

mountains, and the mountains were

mountains of bronze

. 2 With the

first chariot

were red horses, with the

second chariot

black horses, 3 with the

third chariot

white horses, and with the

fourth chariot

dappled

horses--strong steeds. 4 Then I answered and said to the angel who talked with me, "What are these, my

lord?" 5 And the angel answered and said to me, "

These are four spirits of heaven,

who go out from their

station before the Lord of all the earth. 6 The one with the black horses is going to the north country, the

white are going after them, and the dappled are going toward the south country." 7 Then the strong steeds

went out, eager to go,

that they might walk to and fro throughout the earth

. And He said, "Go, walk to and fro

throughout the earth." So they walked to and fro throughout the earth. 8 And He called to me, and spoke to me,

saying, "See, those who go toward the north country

have given rest to My Spirit in the north country

(Zechariah 6:1-8)

When the servant of the man of God arose early and went out, there was an army

(Syrian)

, surrounding the

city with horses and chariots. And his servant said to him, "Alas, my master! What shall we do?" 16 So he

answered, "Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them." 17 And Elisha

prayed, and said, "LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see." Then the LORD opened the eyes of the

young man, and he saw. And behold,

the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire

all around Elisha.

18 So when the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the LORD, and said, "Strike this people, I pray,

with blindness." And He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha. (2 Kings 6:15-18)

VI.        TRAVEL AND MOVEMENT WITHIN THE “CORRIDOR OF GLORY”

A.        The glory-smoke and the glory-cloud is one of Jesus’ chosen means of travel and talking face to face with His
people. The smoke, cloud and fire are over Mt. Zion and we conclude that they are present for similar purposes as seen
earlier in Scripture. In the cloud, we see one of Jesus’ means of travel and encountering His people.

B.        The “Corridor of Glory” has a dimension of travel to it. The cloud has a dimensions in Jesus’ means of travel and
the unfolding of His purpose. Jesus comes back on clouds in the midst of flaming fire. Elijah traveled in the chariot of fire.
The “Corridor of Glory” has a travel dimension to it, as does Jesus’ Chariot-Throne (Ezekiel 1). Jesus is described as
traveling on glory-clouds and in the glory-smoke at key times in history. He came and went in context to smoke and clouds
in the Old Testament.

Suddenly a

chariot of fire

appeared with horses of fire...and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

coming in a cloud

with power and great glory. (Luke 21:27)

Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and

coming on the cloud

s of heaven. (Matthew 26:64)

While they watched, He (Jesus) was taken up, and a

cloud received Him

out of their sight. (Acts 1:9)

They

(Two Witnesses)

heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here." They

ascended to

heaven in a cloud, and their enemies saw them

. (Revelation 11:12)

We...shall be

caught up together with them in the clouds

to meet the Lord in the air…(1 Thessalonians 4:17)
