ARMAGEDDON: BEAUTY OF THE WARRIOR KING – PART 1
I. HEAVEN AND EARTH RECONCILED THE CENTER PIECE OF THE STUDY OF END-TIMES.
In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe
filled the temple. Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two
he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one cried to another and said: "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD
of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!" Isaiah 6:1-3
“These things Isaiah said when he saw His glory and spoke of Him.” John 12:41
A. God’s vision statement-
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and
darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then
God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.” Genesis 1:1-3
B. The mystery was hidden from the wise and the prudent but has been made plain in Christ.
“But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain You. How
much less this temple which I have built!” 1 Kings 8:27
C. There is a hidden plan in the heart of God that was determined even before Gen. 1 took place. The Divine strategy
(human history) in the way that God unfolds hidden information that binds our hearts to Him and enlarges us in love.
D. This hidden plan, or blue print necessitated the 2nd Person of the Trinity becoming a man, pay the price for sin, to
be raised from the dead, to be seated back at the right hand of God the Father before the Father would declare this
hidden plan to the humanity (the redeemed). God gave the mystery of God to the apostles who recorded it in the written
Word of God, and it was passed down through the generations.
“…which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to
His holy apostles and prophets…” Ephesians 3:5
E. Not until the Christ is revealed in the flesh and declares the mystery with His own mouth first that the apostles
would know the mystery of God.
“No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared
Him.” John 1:18
F. The unfolding of human history as understood according to the Divine mystery impacts us and changes our
emotional chemistry. God devised a plan that as He unfolds it to our hearts it causes us to grow in the experiencing of
the romance of the Gospel.
G. The promise of God to humanity is Himself-
H. “One step further, a long step beyond even the inexpressible heights of mystical prayer on earth: the beatific vision
in glory. This direct seeing of the endlessly lovely Trinity face to face, and without any mediating concept or idea whatever,
is eternally, absolutely unending. We shall never exhaust the wonder, the dazzlingly enthralling drinking of limitless Beauty.
Indeed, “eye has not seen, nor ear heard nor can we even imagine what God has prepared for those who love him”
(1 Corinthians 2:9). The reason is that he has prepared Himself, endless enthrallment. Heaven is eternal ecstasy.”
(The Evidential Power of Beauty by Thomas Dubay pg 44)
“After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am
your shield, your exceedingly great reward.” Genesis 15:1
I. The centerpiece of God’s eternal purpose is for Jesus to come back to fully establish His Kingdom rule over all the earth
as He joins the heavenly and earthly realms together. God’s purpose has always been for God and His people to live
together in this way. This is the interpretive key to understanding the End-Times. Without this foundational revelation,
confusion is inevitable when studying the End-Times.
“… having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in
Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in
Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him.” Ephesians 1:9-10
II. THE STUDY OF END-TIMES AND THE BEAUTY OF JESUS
A. The study of End-Times is about both the unveiling of events and the beauty of the personhood of Christ Jesus.
Somehow Jesus’ divine administrations are powerfully and intricately woven together with revelation of His beauty. As the
administration and the Personhood of Christ is revealed, so is the beauty and the glory of God the Father. The study of
End-Times shows us God’s sovereignty over human history.
B. I believe Isaiah is having a vision in the Jerusalem temple not caught up in heaven like John in Revelation 4-5 when
John was taken to heaven. I believe that Isaiah is in temple in Jerusalem on the earth having an encounter. In this vision
the prophet is seeing the centerpiece of God’s plan that He would converge all things in realm of the spirit and realm of the
natural.
C. Isaiah is seeing a dimension of that reality. He sees a throne, lifted up in the realm of the spirit, and train of robe filling
temple on the earth. The encounter covers both realm of spirit and natural.
D. The seraphim around the throne are peering into the being of God and declare the beauty of His majesty to one
another, as they perceive God’s holy plan.
“To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now
have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from
heaven—things which angels desire to look into.” 1 Peter 1:12
E. Isaiah 6 is a dimension of that angelic beings hovering and looking into being of God. The angels desire to look
into God’s eternal plan of redemption and salvation. Looking into the plan of God awakens a cry of proclaiming the
transcendent beauty of God to one another. The seraphim declare the beauty of God’s personality.
F. The mystery of the gospel unveils to us the transcendence of God’s personality, purpose and plan. God found the
inspiration of His plan in Himself, He is the ultimate original one and the Seraphim are looking into his eternal plan
“Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts (master of legions or the captain of the army); the whole earth is full
of His glory!” Isaiah 6:3
“… having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in
Himself.” Ephesians 1:9
“… according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord …” Ephesians 3:11
“Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments
and His ways past finding out! “For who has known the mind of the LORD? Or who has become His counselor?”
“ Or who has first given to Him and it shall be repaid to him?” For of Him and through Him and to Him are all
things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.” Romans 11:33-36
“He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one
can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.” Ecclesiastes 3:11
G. The proper study of end-times brings to a place of encountering the knowledge of God found in the revelation of
Christ Jesus.
III. GOD IS A WARRIOR: THE TRANSCENDED BEAUTY OF THE MASTER OF LEGIONS
And one cried to another and said: "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!
Isaiah 6:3
“The LORD will march out like a mighty man, like a warrior he will stir up his zeal; with a shout he will raise t
he battle cry and will triumph over his enemies. Isaiah 42:13
A. The “Lord of hosts” is phrase that can also mean, the “Warrior King, or Captain of the Armies,” or “Master of Legions.”
The word “host” can also mean armies. The “hosts” is made up of angels and saints. The armies of heaven are both
angelic and redeemed.
B. There is warfare and a fighting dimension related to the execution of God’s plan. This plan will not executed without
a battle. He came to defeat the enemy at the cross, to make a public spectacle of devil, and render realms of darkness
powerless now. He will also come and engage into a battle in the realm of the natural – the battle of Jerusalem.
C. The purpose of His 1st Coming and the cross was to lay foundation of the future political and economic kingdom to
be built upon. He came to lay the foundation called Sermon on the Mount by writing His law, His value system upon the
hearts of those who say yes to His leadership. He came to the lay the foundation of His coming kingdom. Christ is the
foundation (1 Corinthians 3:10), but the expression of that foundation is the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7).
D. The purpose of His 2nd Coming is to manifest the fullness of God’s government on the earth establishing His throne
in Jerusalem that will be preceded by a military battle.
He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor; therefore His own arm brought
salvation for Him (the cross); and His own righteousness, it sustained Him. Isaiah 59:16
“I looked, but there was no one to help, and I wondered that there was no one to uphold; therefore My own
arm brought salvation for Me (Armageddon Campaign); and My own fury, it sustained Me. I have trodden
down the peoples in My anger, made them drunk in My fury, and brought down their strength to the earth.”
Isaiah 63:5-6
“Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come
in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. Lift up your heads,
O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory?
The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory.” Psalm 24:7-10
E. Commonly the subject of warfare is limited to a battle fought in the spirit. However there is a battle to be fought in
natural at Campaign of Armageddon with humanity of Christ. There is a revelation of mystery of Christ, as God-Man the
Warrior-King. The warfare that Christ wages is in the realm of the Spirit and the realm of the natural.
F. The God-Man, who is a warrior, fights demons, but he will fight a battle in natural with human process, yet with
supernatural activity upon it.
IV. THE ARMAGEDDON CAMPAIGN
A. The Armageddon is NOT the colliding of two world powers like communism and democracy or two world
superpowers at war with each other bringing the earth to brink of destruction. Armageddon is the nations of the earth
fight against God and His armies.
“The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive
authority for one hour as kings with the beast. These are of one mind, and they will give their power and
authority to the beast. These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is
Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.”
Revelation 17:12-14
“Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the
rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying, “Let us break their bonds
in pieces and cast away their cords from us.” Psalm 2:1-3
“For they have consulted together with one consent; they form a confederacy against You.” Psalm 83:5
B. The issue of the Armageddon campaign is Jerusalem, because Jerusalem will be where the government of heaven
and earth will be brought together under Father’s authority.
I (Lord) will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem; the city shall be taken, the houses rifled, and
the women ravished. Half of the city shall go into captivity, but the remnant of the people shall not be cut off
from the city. 3 Then the LORD will go forth and fight against those nations... (Zechariah 14:2-3)
3 Then the LORD will go forth and fight against those nations, as He fights in the day of battle. In that day
His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives…and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, from east to west,
making a very large valley…5 Then you shall flee through My mountain valley…Yes, you shall flee as you
fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah…Thus the LORD my God will come, and all the saints with
You. (Zechariah 14:3-5)
12 This shall be the plague with which the LORD will strike all the people who fought against Jerusalem:
their flesh shall dissolve while they stand on their feet, their eyes shall dissolve in their sockets, and their
tongues shall dissolve in their mouths. 13 It shall come to pass in that day that a great panic from the LORD
will be among them. Everyone will seize the hand of his neighbor, and raise his hand against his neighbor's
hand; 14 Judah also will fight at Jerusalem. The wealth of all the surrounding nations shall be gathered
together: Gold, silver, and apparel in great abundance. 15 Such also shall be the plague on the horse and
the mule, on the camel and the donkey, and on all the cattle that will be in those camps. So shall this plague
be. (Zechariah 14:12-15)
3 In that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will
surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it. 4 In that day," says the LORD,
"I will strike every horse with confusion, and its rider with madness…8 In that day the LORD will defend the
inhabitants of Jerusalem…9 It shall be in that day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come
against Jerusalem. (Zechariah 12:3, 8-9)
C. Armageddon is about establishing God’s throne in heaven and on earth in Jerusalem.
“Yet I have set My Kin on My holy hill of Zion.” Psalm 2:6
At that time Jerusalem shall be called The Throne of the LORD, and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to
the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem. (Jeremiah 3:17)
“How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you
who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne
above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation (Psalm 24:3) on the farthest sides of
the north … (Jerusalem?? Psalm 48:2) Isaiah 14:12-13
D. Jesus will trample the nations of the earth and much blood will flow-
1 Who is this who comes from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah, this One who is glorious in His apparel
(Jesus), traveling in the greatness of His strength?-- "I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save." 2 Why
is Your apparel red, and Your garments like one who treads in the winepress? 3 "I have trodden the
winepress…for I have trodden them in My anger, and trampled them in My fury; their blood is sprinkled
upon My garments (in context to the Battle of Jerusalem), and I have stained all My robes. 4 For the day of
vengeance is in My heart, and the year of My redeemed has come…6 I have trodden down the peoples in My
anger, made them drunk in My fury, and brought down their strength… (Isaiah 63:1-6)
1 Let the earth hear, and all that is in it…2 For the indignation of the LORD is against all nations, and His
fury against all their armies; He has utterly destroyed them, He has given them over to the slaughter. 3 Also
their slain shall be thrown out; Their stench shall rise from their corpses, and the mountains shall be melted
with their blood. 4 All the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled up like a scroll;
all their host shall fall down…5 "For My sword shall be bathed in heaven; indeed it shall come down on
Edom…6 The sword of the LORD is filled with blood…for the LORD has a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great
slaughter in the land of Edom. 7…their land shall be soaked with blood…8 For it is the day of the LORD'S
vengeance, the year of recompense for the cause of Zion. (Isaiah 34:1-8)
13 Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, go down; for the winepress is full, the vats overflow-- for
their wickedness is great." 14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! for the day of the LORD is near
in the valley of decision. Joel 3:13-14
19 The angel…gathered the vine of the earth, and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. 20
And the winepress was trampled (by Jesus) outside the city (Jerusalem), and blood came out of the
winepress, up to the horses' bridles, for 1,600 furlongs (1,600 stadia in NIV or 200 miles from Megiddo or
Armageddon in the north to Bozrah in the south) (Revelation 14:19-20)
18 It shall be that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come and see My glory…23 All flesh
shall come to worship before Me…24 and they shall go forth and look upon the corpses of the men who
have transgressed against Me…They shall be an abhorrence to all flesh." (Isaiah 66:18-24)
“He shall judge among the nations, He shall fill the places with dead bodies, He shall execute the heads of
many countries.
E. Armageddon is Jesus judging the nations be waging a supernatural military war against them -
11 Behold, a white horse. He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and
makes war. 12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns…13 He was clothed with
a robe dipped in blood…14 The armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on
white horses. 15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He
Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of
Almighty God. 16 And He has on His robe…a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. 17 Then I
saw an angel…saying to all the birds…, "Come and gather together for the supper of the great God, 18 that
you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those
who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great." 19 I saw the beast, the
kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and
against His army. 20 Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet…these two were cast alive
into the lake of fire…21 the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat
on the horse. All the birds were filled with their flesh. (Revelation 19:11-21)
F. There will be a three-fold gathering for war among on the nations:
1. Demonic allurement -
13 I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon (Satan), out of the mouth of the
beast (Antichrist), and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 For they are spirits of demons, performing
signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great
day of God Almighty. 16 And they gathered them together to the place called in Hebrew, Armageddon.
(Revelation 16:13-16)
2. Divine gathering -
2 I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into
judgment with them there... 11 Assemble and come, all you nations…12 Let the nations…come up to the
Valley of Jehoshaphat; for there I will sit to judge all the surrounding nations.” Joel 3:2, 11-12
3. Prophetic preaching -
9 Proclaim this among the nations: "Prepare for war ...let all the men of war draw near, let them come up...”
Joel 3:9
G. Jesus comes from Jordan or Teman to Jerusalem.
11 The sun and moon stood still in their habitation; At the light of Your arrows they went, At the shining of
Your glittering spear. 12 You marched through the land in indignation; You trampled the nations in anger.
13 You went forth for the salvation of Your people
