My Dictionary - "U"

UNBELIEF - unwillingness to adhere to and trust and rely on God
      -refusal to trust God
      -chose to sin
      -never listened/never believed
      -active disobedience
-cure for unbelief - Mark 16:19
Hear  unbelief  disobedience (rebellion)  hardness of heart/blindness of mind  sin  corpses  in wilderness
--unbelief is faith in the visible; belief is faith in the invisible
--perverted faith for it puts its trust not in the living God but in dying men
--There are two sins which claim pre-eminence in hell:  hypocrisy and unbelief.  Therefore sinners are warned not to
have their ‘portion with the hypocrites’ (Matthew 24:51) or with ‘unbelievers’ (Luke 12:46).  It seems that infernal mansions
are reserved principally for the sins of hypocrisy and unbelief and that all others are inferior prisoners.  But of the two
unbelief is the greater, for it is called ‘the damning sin’.  ‘He that believeth not is condemned already’.  (John 3:18).  The
unbelieving person carries his own warrant to jail; in a sense he is already imprisoned, for he wears the brand of a
damned person.
--If you prefer your own ignorance and do not know who Christ is and what He has done for your salvation, you are
far from believing.
•        Matthew 11:20 Jews wouldn’t believe Jewish because of their subjective prejudice.  They cannot be moved by
anybody.  “They repented not”.  Because of their subjectivity they will not accept or repent.  Whether men believe or not
is not determined by how many problems they have.  It is governed by subjectivity and hardness of heart.  Unbelief not
due to fewer miracles, as Jesus did many in Capernaum.  (Nee)

to me for all that God was, died – I gave up everything?  Became ill?  Got disheartened?  Or I saw the Lord?”  (Oswald
Chambers)    It seems like the law of disillusionment is proportionate to the extent of our unreality.
