Speaking The Testimony of Jesus

I.        TO SPEAK THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS MEANS THAT WE ARE MAKING DECLARATIONS THAT ARE IN
AGREEMENT WITH WHO HE IS AND WHAT HE IS SAYING.

A.        There are two aspects to this.

1.        What we know of His heart and purposes through the Scriptures.

a.        The Scriptures are the primary and most authoritative means of understanding His testimony.

2.        Specific ways this applies to our personal lives, churches, cities, etc.

a.        This is where the gift of prophecy and the prophetic office, and other means of revelation, (dreams and visions),
come into play.

b.        I also want to emphasize that ‘speaking the testimony of Jesus’ includes all manner of communication, (the arts,
dance, song, drama, literature), and is not limited strictly to the spoken word.

B.        God wants to raise up and release prophetic messengers in this hour who will with boldness, authority and
power declare the purpose and heart of God to this generation.

II.        THERE ARE THREE ASPECTS TO THE REVELATION OF THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS.

A.        The foundational truth is that the Testimony of Jesus has revolved around the prophetic unfolding of His purposes
from the foundations of the earth and throughout history, unto the culmination of all things summed up in Christ, (2nd.
coming, full establishment of the Kingdom of Heaven on earth).

1.        It’s not a one time revelation, but a living, progressive, evolving process that is being released through the Bride
in conjunction with the purposes of God.

2.        We are all invited to find our place in the Divine Drama and participate with the Bridegroom King in this hour.
III.        LOOK AT THE THREE ASPECTS OF THIS THROUGH THE LENS OF EPHESIANS  1:3-10.

3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the
heavenly places in Christ, 4just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and
without blame before Him in love, 5having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to
the good pleasure of His will, 6to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.

7In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace 8which He
made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, 9having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to
His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, 10that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather
together in one all things in Christ, £both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him.

A.        The first aspect of the Testimony of Jesus encompasses the revelation of the dream in the Father’s heart from the
foundations of the earth through Old Testament times.

1.        That dream is to share His beauty and goodness for all eternity with voluntary lovers.

a.        We catch this glimpse in the understanding that God called us by name before the foundations of the earth
Ps. 139. We catch this glimpse in the concept of the Lamb slain from the foundations of the earth. Sons for the Father
and a Bride for the Son.

2.        Though He knew we would fall and commit every possible offense against His love He still chose to give His Son
and the Son still chose to come. The theme is redemption, healing, salvation restoration and eternal victory and joy.

a.        We see this theme played out over and over again in the OT. We see the prophetic heart of God revealed
through prophets, priests and kings, who called people back to a loving God, spoke of a coming suffering servant
King and of a coming triumphant King of Kings.

3.        The reason it’s important to connect to this aspect because these OT saints carried the testimony of Jesus.

a.        Hebrews 11:13 -16 describes the heart of pilgrimage the Old Testament saints maintained.
b.         They give us an example of living out the testimony.
c.        They call us to a Prophetic /fasted   lifestyle.

B.        The second aspect, (Ephesians 1:7), is the incarnation, the first fullness of time. This is where the Lamb slain from the
foundations became flesh and blood and died for our sins.

8No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten £Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him. John 1:8

1.        He testified to the heart of the Father in proclamation and demonstration.

9Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the
Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me?

a.        He was God the Father ‘touchable’. Philippians 2:6-11 describe His heart and nature.

b.        He died and rose to pay for our sins, free us from Satan’s power and bring us into our eternal destinies.
Colossians 2:13 describes how Jesus set us free from the power of the law and the grasp of Satan.

c.        This is where we step into the drama. His ‘to do’ list. We were on it. This is our time to take over for the Old
Testament saints who saw the promises from afar.

C.        The last aspect of the Testimony of Jesus has to do with the promise of what is to come.

1.        Paul describes it well in I Corinthians 15:24 – 28.

2.        There is yet an aspect of the Testimony to be fulfilled. Beloved, this is the most exciting and terrifying time in history.

a.        We stand at the brink of great darkness coming on the world but great light and power coming to the Church. It is time
for us as the Bride to arise and find our place.

IV.        WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO US TODAY?

A.        Paul gives us a good job description in Ephesians 3:9-12.

…..to make all see what is the £fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God
who created all things £through Jesus Christ; 10to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known
by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, 11according to the eternal purpose which He
accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, 12in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him.

1.        There are two aspects of this description.

a.        We are to proclaim the glory, power, and dominion of Christ in the face of powers and principalities.
b.        We are to declare the power of the cross to the lost and broken, calling them into the ‘ark’ in this hour.

B.        In this light we must have an eternal mindset.

1.        We must live now for eternity.
2.        We must have oil.
3.        We must have power.
