Dawn of Resurrection
Angel gives message he was sent to give:
First day of the week - Sunday A great earthquake “Do not be afraid. He is risen. Come see. Go quickly and tell
His disciples. He is going before you into Galilee.”
No other day mentioned in all of An angel descended from heaven Message given to Mary Magdalene and other Mary
New Testament from then on Angel rolled away the very large stone
Angel sat on the stone Women went into tomb
Mary Magdalene and other Mary Angel’s countenance like lightning Suddenly
brought spices to anoint Jesus and clothing white as snow Saw young man/youth clothed in long white robe sitting
Women were alarmed
Jews did not practice embalming Guards shook with fear and
become like dead Angel said: “Do not be afraid. You seek Jesus of Nazareth
Said among themselves who was crucified. He is risen. He is not here. See the
“Who will roll away the stone?” place where they laid Him.”
“Remember what he told you.”
They didn’t understand what He had Guards went into city and reported “Go tell His disciples, and Peter”
told them that He would rise again to Sanhedrin They remembered His words
the third day Chief priests gathered elders and Women left tomb trembling and amazed

No expectation of Jesus’
resurrection Gave soldiers large sum of money They run to tell disciples
and told them to say:
“His disciples came at night Disciples didn’t believe it
and stole Him away while Peter and John ran to tomb and John got there first
we slept.”
John looked inside and marveled
Sanhedrin promise to “fix it” with Peter went into the tomb and saw linen clothes
the governor if he hears Saw the handkerchief that had been on His head, not lying
with linen clothes but folded together in a place by itself
Guards took money and did John went inside. Saw and believed
what they were told
They still didn’t know the Scripture about His rising again
Disciples went to their homes
