Lion and the Ram -- both strong male pictures.

REACTION (Nee)
--Our lives from morning to night are full of reaction.  As other people make a move, we too move.  Not that we initiate,
but that we react.
--The reactive conduct of Christians in Matthew 5:
              (1)  Initiating hurtfulness or
              (2) Reacting against it in kind
--If think in your heart that someone who has harmed you should get their reward, this is invalid conduct.  The love in us
must be greater than the hate in you.
--Our reaction “grace” - and no one can exhaust the Lord’s grace in me.  It is not I whom God tests, but actually He is
testing Himself, in showing me, if He be allowed to do so, what the Lord who abides in me can do.  Here is a transcending
power which the world does not know.
--The inner reality is greater than the outward trial.  This is what is termed true Christian reaction.
--Matthew 5:38-42 gives us how to react to three situations:
              (1)  Laying down the material things of the world (coat and cloak)
              (2) Dealing with the glory of men (slapping on cheek)
              (3) The issue of freedom (going the second mile)
--God’s demand is greater than the evil person.  No matter how people treat you, they cannot require higher of  you than
that which God requires of you.
--Many problems are created due to an unsettling relationship between us and God.  If you have an absolute consecration
before Him, you will feel that all the demands men make on you are far less than what God has asked of you.
--Reaction happens quickly - no time to think or pray.  So great and habitual is the grace of God upon us that even
without consideration or thought our reaction is right.
--The more we do, the larger our capacity, till there is not a single thing in the world that has a grip on us.
--to mourn is the highest reaction.  Anger and sorrow are also reactions.  But mourning is the deepest as shown in Psalm 42.
(Nee)
--Why mourn?  Because there is love.  Without love there can be no mourning, for there will be no such reaction where
love is absent.  Without love, there will be neither crying nor mourning.  This then, is a test.  It is simply an admonition of the
Lord.  If we encounter such environment and yet are not sensitive to it, we should ask the Lord to give us burden. (Nee)

READY  - How to be ready:
              1.  Get to know Scriptures
              2.  Know Book of Revelation thoroughly

•        “You ask, what is rebellion? How do I know if I am rebellious? Rebellion is not just the prolonged, and continuing
practice of any sin, it is not just an outward act or behavior. Rebellion is a heart condition. Rebellion is born in the heart of
the one who says to himself, ‘I know this is not really wrong. I don’t believe that God really cares whether I do that or not.’
Rebellion is saying ‘ I don’t believe I will die if I eat of the fruit. I will do as I think is right and I will be alright.’ Rebellion is an
attitude - thinking you know what is best for you that you do not need My guidance. Rebellion is thinking that even though
it might be wrong for others it will be O.K. for you do to.  (BH)
•        Rebellion = cancer – self-will (RJ)

REBUKE - When Jesus rebuked the storm, He didn’t say “peace be still”.  He said “get muzzled” as if you were talking         to a naughty
puppy.

RECEIVE - act on promises (KC)
      1.  forgive
      2.  mountain - any obstacle to my abundant life - find it out
      3.  Ask God for Wisdom of the circumstances.
      4.  When God reveals what the mountain is - cast it into the sea
--Receiving is active and aggressive.  A determined exercise of the will.  It means to not deny any condition                 that the Lord
lays down--actively take Him on His terms.(Tozer)

RED HORSE  - man in conflict with himself; man’s inhumanity to man

REDEMPTION - God’s pursuit of man, not man’s pursuit of God

REJECTION - is a wonderful indicator that we have allowed our allegiance to be shifted from God to men
•        When Jesus was rejected and suffered greatly, He praised the Father, for He accepted the discipline, ordering
and pleasure of God.  He is meek, having no resistance.  He is lowly, not expecting better treatment.  His heart is truly
meek and lowly.  Consequently, He was able to praise the Father even though He encountered so much difficulty.

That perversion of submission has warped body of Christ.
--essence of wrong spiritual equations saying that we are more desirable to God because of self-denial and asceticism.
It is the essence of dead religion.
--Religious arrogance =defilement of spirit=it is an unholy confidence to judge
--Religious arrogance:  the boldness to write off and to judge
•        The essence of religion:  wrong spiritual equations saying that we are more desirable to God because of self-denial
and asceticism.  That is the essence of dead religion.

•        “A person with a religious spirit is one who uses My Word to execute his own will!” – Lord told J Bevere

REMARRY - spiritually speaking, to remarry speaks in the Scriptures of the believer being joined to Another, who is Jesus
Christ.  These four women represent all who have been tested and have received grace.  They signify how people will
turn to Christ.  (Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Mary)

REMEMBERING – Visiting – remembering – God remembers the sins of the fathers when about to punish the children.
He distinguishes between the moral responsibility which falls exclusively upon the sinful parents, and the natural
consequences and predisposition of sin, inherited by the descendants.  He takes into account the evil environment and
influence.  He therefore tempers justice with mercy; and He does so the third and fourth generation.  Deuteronomy 20:5

REMNANT – are those who by force of intellect are able to apprehend these principals, and by force of character are
able, at least measurably, to cleave to them.  The masses are those who are unable to do either.  The remnant are aware
of the adulteration of the message and of the desires that prompt it.  A true prophet preaches to the masses only in the
sense that he preaches publicly.  Anyone who liked might listen; anyone who liked might pass by.  The true knows that
the remnant will listen.  The remnant want only the best you have, whatever that may be.

REND HEART – spiritual violence and dealing radically with the matters of the heart.  We take our cold hearts and
position them before God’s fire, asking Him to set us ablaze with love for Him and to consume all that stands in the way. (MB)

--M. Munroe says the light God first created was knowledge.  That being ignorant is darkness.  “My people perish
for lack of knowledge.”

REPENTANCE - born of God’s grace, granting to a man the ability to grieve, not for his own loss or his having hurt others,
but FOR THEIR SAKE.
      --True repentance brings forth fruit
      --Rick Shelton:
Repentance like bowel movement:  necessary but don’t talk about
Process of elimination/digestion.  Equally as important as receiving
A process of eliminating waste of your life
              Need regular movements of repentance
Repent = completely turn around and go a different direction; a change of  thinking that results in a change of
conduct; requires you to completely turn
Not an emotion or feeling.  It is a decision
--the truest and most acceptable repentance is to reverse the acts and attitudes of which we repent.  Isaiah 55:7
--Jesus preached the same as that which John the Baptist had preached.  The foundation of the kingdom of the heavens
is set on repentance
--repentance itself is not the kingdom of the heavens; it only helps people to touch that kingdom
--Repentance is a drastic and absolute new judgment on oneself.  It is a change in self-estimation
--To repent means that there must be a basic, inward, constitutional, absolute change of mind:  no longer looking at self
according to my own opinion, but looking at myself from the viewpoint of God.
--Repent means to ask Jesus if there is anything in your life that You don’t like, and then cut it out.  Prove your repentance
by your deeds.  The New Testament approach is to baptize only when proof of repentance has been shown.  You don’t
baptize on profession of faith.  Repentance means change, turn around,  walk away from wrong things you are doing.
•        Matthew 11:20 – Jews wouldn’t believe Jewish because of their subjective prejudice.  They cannot be moved by
anybody.  “they repented not”.  Because of their subjectivity they will not accept or repent.  Whether men believe or not is
not determined by how many problems they have.  It is governed by subjectivity and hardness of heart. (Nee)
•        Repentance involves turning from sin and returning to the Lord; must be a change of mind; the unrighteous must
forsake his thoughts.  We must alter our judgments concerning persons and things, dislodge the corrupt imaginations
and quit the vain pretences under which an unsanctified heart shelters itself   Isaiah 55:7

REPENTED -  God repented.  When He institutes a ‘change in His dealings’ with men, He describes His course of conduct
as ‘repenting’ (Pink p38)

•        Can cook breakfast for unresurrected bodies

RESURRECTION - The resurrection is not a day - it is Jesus
-the secret place/mystery of God (SOS 2:14)
--There are two resurrections here:  one of the saints and one of the unrighteous.  Jesus was once asked if He believed
in the resurrection of the righteous and He said He did.  Paul called it the “out” resurrection twice when he mentioned it.
Out from among the dead and he described Jesus’ resurrection as “out” resurrection.  This means not a general
resurrection, but someone being taken “out” from the world of the dead and resurrected, leaving other dead behind.
Jesus certainly had an “out” resurrection - not everyone was resurrected.  Paul’s ambition was to share in that first
esurrection and not be left until the second.  He wanted to share the sufferings of Christ that he might share the glory that
followed that he might obtain the “out” resurrection.  He wants to be raised as an overcoming saint.  Even Paul did not
presume that he would be among them ... he pressed on.

REVELATION - enables us to see what God sees.  All things are naked and laid bare before Him.  Any covering is upon our
own eyes, not God’s.   When God opens our eyes that we may know the intent of our heart and the deepest thought within
us in the measure that He Himself knows us--this is revelation.  (Nee)
--A man can receive nothing except it be given him from heaven  John 3:27
      --Poem by Herbert:
Oh that I knew how all thy lights combine,
and the configurations of their glorie,
Seeing not only how each verse doth shine,
but all the constellations of the storie.
•        Matthew 10:27  What should we do with the revelation which the Lord has given us?  All must be viewed in the light
of the judgment seat.  The ministry of God’s word is based on hearing Him first.  In proclaiming the word of God, it must be
words which God has spoken and that you have heard.
•        Revelation is a testimony because it is propounded to be received on the authority of the Giver and not merely
because it can be proved by arguments (JFB – Isaiah 55:4)

--The righteousness of the scribes was that they were untrustworthy before men, but dared not speak carelessly before
God
--Matthew 5:33-37 in Message bible “And don’t say anything you don’t mean.  This counsel is embedded deep in our
traditions.  You only make things worse when you lay down a smoke screen of pious talk, saying, “I’ll pray for you” and
never doing it, or saying.  “God be with you” and not meaning it.  You don’t make your words true by embellishing them
with religious lace.  In making your speech sound more religious, it becomes less true.  Just say ‘yes” and “no”.  When
you manipulate words to get your own, way, you go wrong.
      --Alms, prayers, fasting = righteousness
--to become a new man, and to bear the image of god; to have an interest in Christ and the promises.
•        Righteousness – the true, personal relationship with the covenant Lord that manifests itself in the daily lives of God’s
people  (NIV)
•        The righteousness gained by obedience was not the ground but the result of deliverance (Deuteronomy 6;
Revelation 19:8) (Z)
•        Righteousness is about an arena where the revelation of the attributes of God are available.  That Is an arena called
righteousness.  It is the revelation of God.  And then the acts of righteousness are when the people of God go out from
that arena where the attributes of God are available, they free captives, and then bring them into the arena to encounter
God
