Four Foundational Aspects of the Millennial Kingdom
    (Supernatural, Physical, Political, Relational)

I.        REVIEW: THE MILLENNIAL KINGDOM: JESUS’ 1,000-YEAR REIGN ON EARTH

A.        In session 01, we gave an overview of the Millennium which is a 1,000-year period in which Jesus will rule the world in
righteousness. Millennium is from the Latin “mille” (a thousand).

4 I saw thrones, and they (saints) sat on them…They lived and reigned with Christ for 1000 years…6 They shall reign with
Him 1000 years. (Rev. 20:4-6)

B.        Jesus as King of Kings will personally govern a worldwide Kingdom from Jerusalem. At this time the Kingdom of
God will be openly manifest worldwide affecting every sphere of life (political, social, agricultural, economic, spiritual,
educational, law enforcement, family, media, arts, technology, athletics, environment, social institutions, etc.).

C.        The result will be a 1,000-year period of unprecedented blessing for the whole earth as Jesus establishes
righteousness and prosperity, and restores the agriculture, atmosphere, and animal life to some of the conditions
that were seen in the Garden of Eden (Rev. 20:1-6; Isa. 2:1-4; 9:6-9; 11:1-16; 51:1-8; 60-62; 65:17-25; Ps. 2:6-12;
110:1-7; Deut. 8; 28; Mt. 5:5; 6:10; 17:11; 19:28; 28:19; Acts 1:6; 3:21). This period of blessing will be initiated by
Jesus' Second Coming.

D.        The centerpiece of God’s purpose: bringing heaven and earth together

9 Having made known to us the mystery (plan) of His will…10 that He might gather together in one ALL things in Christ, both
which are in heaven and which are on earth. (Eph. 1:9-10)

E.        The centerpiece of God’s eternal purpose is for Jesus to come back to establish His Kingdom over all the earth
as He joins the heavenly and earthly realms together. God’s purpose has always been for His people to live together
with Him in this way.

3 Behold, the Tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them… (Rev. 21:3)

F.        Heaven speaks of the spiritual realm where God’s presence is openly manifest. Earth speaks of the physical
realm where human process, emotions and physical sensation reach full expression.

G.        The three types of people are on earth when Jesus appears in the sky:

    1. The redeemed will be raptured during Jesus’ worldwide procession across the sky.

    2. The reprobate who took the mark of the Beast will be judged and then killed (some executed).
At this time, there may be 1-3 billion of these people still alive. They will not just disappear.

    3. The resisters are unsaved survivors of the Tribulation who refuse to worship the Antichrist.
       They can be saved then populate the Millennial earth (Isa. 4:3; 10:20; 11:11; 49:6; 65:8;
       66:19; Jer. 31:2; Ezek. 20:38-42; 36:36; Amos 9:9-10; Joel 2:32; Zech. 12:14; 13:8; 14:16).

H.        Jesus will rule the earth with the natural human processes not suspended, yet significantly enhanced by the supernatural
dimension of the Spirit.

II.        GOD’S ORIGINAL PLAN: A FAMILY OF LOVE WHO RULES THE EARTH TOGETHER

A.        Why did God create the earth and the human race? From eternity, there was a yearning in the Father’s heart to have
a family that lives in love as sons of God and as the Bride of Christ.

18 I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters… (2 Cor. 6:18)

7 For the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready. (Rev. 19:7)

B.        The Father’s original plan was to have a family who would rule all creation with Him.

26 Let Us make man in Our image…let them have dominion…over all the earth…28 God said to them, "Be fruitful and
multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion…over every living thing that moves on the earth." (Gen. 1:26-28)

21 All things are yours 22 whether Paul or Apollos…the world or life…or things present or things to come--all are yours.
23 You are Christ's, and Christ is God's. (1 Cor. 3:21-23)

C.        The Father determined to give us every spiritual blessing from the heavenly realm so that we could rule the
earth in great power and blessing as we are filled with love as His children.

3 Blessed be the God and Father…who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him
in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons…according to the good pleasure of His will… (Eph. 1:3-5)

D.        The Father was thinking of you when He prepared the foundations of the world for you.

31 When the Son of Man comes…He will sit on the Throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered…34 The King will
say to those on His right, “Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation
of the world.” (Mt. 25:31-34)

E.        God determined that we experience the fullness of His personality and purpose in the age-to-come as both the
spiritual and natural realms are joined together under Jesus’ leadership.

19 It pleased the Father that in Him (Jesus) all the fullness should dwell, 20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself…
whether things on earth or things in heaven... (Col. 1:19-20)

19 To know the love of Christ...that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. (Eph. 3:19)

13 Until we all come...to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ... (Eph. 4:13)

F.        The Father gave all authority to Jesus and then gave Jesus to the Church. The Church is God’s chosen vehicle
to release His fullness throughout the earth for eternity.

22 He (Father) put all things under His (Jesus’) feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which
is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. (Eph. 1:22-23)

G.        Jesus brings together four realities of God’s Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. They are the supernatural, physical,
political and relational aspects of God’s purpose fully manifest on earth.

III.        THE FOUR FOUNDATIONAL ASPECTS OF THE MILLENNIAL KINGDOM

A.        There are four foundational aspects of Jesus’ Kingdom necessary for the fullness of God to be experienced on
earth. These four aspects of the Millennial Kingdom will converge together as they affect every sphere of life. Biblical
hope and vision include all four aspects together.

B.        The New Jerusalem coming down to earth brings the supernatural heavenly dimension to the Millennial Kingdom.
It will include the supernatural aspects as seen in our resurrected body.

C.        The Garden of Eden being restored brings a physical paradise aspect to the Millennial Kingdom with a renewed
environment (agriculture, animals, atmosphere, etc.) with physical pleasures.

D.        The Kingdom of David brings the political social dimension (social institutions, economic, educational, family,
media, arts, technology, etc.). Righteousness and justice will be established in every sphere of life as every national
government on earth is brought under Jesus’ authority.

E.        The House of Prayer includes the Millennial Temple with the Holy of Holies as the center of the worldwide worship
and prayer movement. This brings an intimate relational aspect to the Millennial Kingdom as we encounter God and
partner with Him in ruling through intercession.

IV.        NEW JERUSALEM: SUPERNATURAL HEAVENLY ASPECTS OF THE KINGDOM

A.        When the New Jerusalem comes to the Millennial earth, then heaven is literally on earth. In other words, at this time
heaven and earth come together releasing a supernatural dimension of resurrection life on the earth. The New
Jerusalem is the place where resurrected saints will live.

12 The New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. (Rev. 3:12)

10 Showed me the…the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God… (Rev. 21:10)

B.        The New Jerusalem will descend to the Millennial Jerusalem connecting the two Jerusalems. Jesus’ Throne will
also be established in the heavenly New Jerusalem that descends to earth. In other words, His Throne is in both the
New Jerusalem and the Millennial Jerusalem (Temple).

3 The Throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it (New Jerusalem). (Rev. 22:3)

31 When the Son of Man comes…then He will sit on the Throne of His glory. (Mt. 25:31)

C.        Does Jesus have one Throne or two? Is it on the Millennial earth or in the New Jerusalem? Yes! His Throne of
glory is both on earth and in Heaven. It is one Throne with two expressions. I suggest that Jesus’ Throne of glory is a
vast governmental complex with the “far north end” of it extending into the New Jerusalem and the “far south end” of it
based in the Millennial Temple in Jerusalem in what I refer to as a “Corridor of Glory” between the two Jerusalems.

31 When the Son of Man comes…then He will sit on the Throne of His glory. (Mt. 25:31)

D.        The New Jerusalem descending to earth will create a new situation in which the spiritual and natural realm will operate
together dynamically. This will cause an open heaven over the earth as the veil is lifted. A tidal wave of glory will spread
to all nations from Millennial Jerusalem.

14 The earth will be filled with the…glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea. (Hab. 2:14)

E.        In Bethel, only 12 miles north of Jerusalem, Jacob saw a place in which a supernatural ladder extended from earth
to the gate of heaven. He saw angels ascend and descend between the heavenly and earthly realms. Jacob’s ladder
reveals the connection of these two realms.

12 He dreamed…a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were
ascending and descending on it…17 He said, "How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God,
and this is the gate of heaven!" (Gen. 28:12-16)

F.        In Gen. 2-3, God walked with Adam in face to face fellowship as spiritual and natural realms operated together.
A veil was created between these two realms when Adam sinned. This veil will be lifted at Jesus’ Coming as things in
the heavenly and earthly realms come together.

G.        The New Jerusalem will descend to the earth in two stages. First, it will descend at the Second Coming to begin
the Millennium (Rev. 21:10) then it descends after the Millennium (Rev. 21:2).

V.        THE GARDEN OF EDEN: PHYSICAL PARADISE ASPECTS OF THE KINGDOM

A.        The Garden of Eden being restored brings a physical paradise aspect to the Millennial Kingdom with a renewed
environment (agriculture, animals, atmosphere, etc.) with physical pleasures. We will live in a resurrected body with
supernatural capacities enjoying a garden of paradise that is filled with beauty and pleasure. God wants to live forever
with His people in a physical paradise.

3 For the LORD will comfort Zion, He will comfort all her waste places; He will make her wilderness like Eden, And her
desert like the garden of the LORD... (Isa. 51:3)

30 I will multiply the fruit of your trees and the increase of your fields…35 They will say, “This land that was desolate has
become like the garden of Eden; and the wasted, desolate, and ruined cities are now fortified…” (Ezek. 36:30-35)

1 The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, and the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose; 2 it
shall blossom abundantly…the glory of Lebanon shall be given to it…They shall see the glory of the LORD, the
excellency of our God…5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
6 Then the lame shall leap…for waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert… (Isa. 35:1-6)

26 I will make them and the places all around My Hill a blessing; and I will cause showers to come down in their season;
there shall be showers of blessing. 27 Then the trees of the field shall yield their fruit, and the earth shall yield her
increase.… 29 I will raise up for them a garden of renown, and they shall no longer be consumed with hunger in the
land, nor bear the shame of the Gentiles anymore. (Ezek. 34:26-29)

B.        The garden of Eden will be established on the Millennial earth with a corresponding reality around God’s Throne in
the New Jerusalem including the River of Life and Tree of Life. The River and the Tree in both realms are two
manifestations of one grand reality (Ezek. 47:1-12).

1 He showed me a river of water of Life…proceeding from the Throne…2 On either side of the River, was the tree of Life,
which bore 12 fruits… The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.3 There shall be no more curse…
4 They shall see His face. (Rev. 22:1-4)

C.        Scripture begins and ends with God living face to face with His people in the Garden of Eden. In Gen. 1-2 Adam
walked with God in face to face fellowship in a Garden. In Rev. 21-22, God again lives with His people face to face in a
Garden. The river of life and the tree of life seen in Gen. 1-2 are seen again in Rev. 21-22. What God originally intended
in the first two chapters of the Bible is fully restored in the last two chapters (Rev. 21-22) as the curse of sin is removed.

D.        The Kingdom of God fulfills man’s utopian dream of a perfect world where everything is bliss. The reason many
are not interested in heaven is because they misunderstand it as being separated from this material earth. If we miss the
revelation of the physical Garden of Eden aspect of our salvation then we will fail to see the glory of Jesus as our
creator from Gen. 1-2.

E.        When Adam sinned all creation was subject to futility or weakness under sin’s curse also called the bondage of
sin’s corruption (v. 21). Jesus reversed this with His great salvation.

19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was
subjected to futility…21 the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of
the children of God. 22 We know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs until now. (Rom. 8:19-22)

F.        The Millennium sees the convergence of the natural and supernatural aspects of God’s Kingdom.

6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb…the calf and the young lion…and a little child shall lead them. 7 The cow and
the bear shall graze…the lion shall eat straw like the ox. 8 The nursing child shall play by the cobra's hole, and the
weaned child shall put his hand in the viper's den. 9 For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD…
(Isa. 11:6-9)

VI.        THE KINGDOM OF DAVID: POLITICAL SOCIAL ASPECTS OF THE KINGDOM

A.        The Kingdom of David brings the political social dimension (social institutions, economic, educational, family,
media, arts, technology, etc.). Righteousness and justice will be established in every sphere of life as every national
government on earth is brought under Jesus’ authority.

B.        In the Millennial Kingdom, Jesus fulfills the OT prophecies of God establishing Him on the Throne of David to
bless all the nations (2 Sam. 7:13, 16, 23:5; Isa. 9:6-7; 55:3; Ps. 89:3-4; 34-37; Jer. 23:5-6; 30:8-9; 33:14-17, 20-21;
Ezek. 37:24-25; Hos. 3:4-5; Amos 9:11).

32 The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. (Lk. 1:32)

31 He will sit on the Throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered… (Mt. 25:31-32)

C.        Jesus will sit on the throne of David as He rules all the nations with righteousness and justice.

6 Unto us a Child is born…a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder…7 Of the increase of His
government...there will be no end, upon the throne of David…to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from
that time forward, even forever. (Isa. 9:6-7)

4 With righteousness He shall judge the poor, and decide with equity…5 Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins,
and faithfulness the belt of His waist. (Isa. 11:4-5)

D.        In the Millennium all the kings of the earth will be saved and worship Jesus (Ps. 72:11; 102:15; 138:4; 148:11;
Isa. 62:2; Rev. 21:24) and base their national governments on God’s Word.

11 All kings shall fall down before Him; all nations shall serve Him. (Ps. 72:11)

E.        Jesus as King of Kings, will personally govern a worldwide Kingdom from Jerusalem in partnership with
resurrected saints who rule with Him (Rev. 2:26-27; 3:21; 5:10; 20:4-6; 22:5; Mt. 19:28; 20:21-23; 25:23;
Lk. 19:17-19; 22:29-30; 1 Cor. 6:2-3; 2 Tim. 2:12; Rom 8:17).

F.        We will be involved with Jesus in establishing the intricacies of the worldwide infrastructure necessary for His
government to rule all nations. We will be involved with His government in a deep and personal way. It will bring great
significance to our lives as we partner with the Lord.

VII.        HOUSE OF PRAYER: INTIMATE RELATIONAL ASPECTS OF THE KINGDOM

A.        The House of Prayer includes the Millennial Temple with the Holy of Holies as the center of the worldwide worship and
prayer movement. This brings an intimate relational aspect to the Millennial Kingdom as we encounter God and partner
with Him in ruling through intercession.

7 For My house shall be called a House of Prayer for all nations. (Isa. 56:7)

B.        Jesus’ Throne in the Millennial Temple or House of Prayer will be the center of His government.

12 The Man…shall build the Temple…and shall sit and rule on His Throne… (Zech. 6:12-13)

4 The glory of the LORD came into the Temple (Millennial Temple)...6 I heard Him speaking to me from the Temple...
7 He said, "This is the place of My Throne and the place of the soles of My feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the
children of Israel forever.” (Ezek. 43:4-7)

C.        Before the Father we are Sons of God and before Jesus we are the Bride of Christ and to one another we are
brothers and sisters who will experience supernatural love and unity.

I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; 21 that they all may be one,
as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they may be one in Us … 22 The glory which You gave Me I have given
them, that they may be one just as We are one…24 Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me
where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the
world. (Jn. 17:20-24)

VIII.        SUMMARY

A.        Israel through history has focused on the earthly dimension of the kingdom without the heavenly. They think of the
Messiah coming to restore the throne of David with its worldwide government coming out of Jerusalem that will reform the
whole world and restore it to the Garden of Eden. They are not thinking of resurrected bodies and angels. The Church
has focused on the heavenly dimension with resurrected bodies in heaven with the angels. They do not think much
about reigning with Jesus on the throne of David over all nations and restoring the earth to the conditions of the Garden
of Eden.

B.        Jesus is both King of the Nations and head of the Church. He is both the human Son of David and the divine Son
of God.

C.        The Christian concept of a heavenly Kingdom is from Rev. 21-22 with the New Jerusalem and streets of gold and
the Hebrew view of the Davidic Kingdom. We need all four aspects to have our hope, according to the New Testament,
established firmly in our life. In order for us to have a firm and solid hope we need to understand all four of these
concepts to some degree. If we miss the Garden of Eden dimension then we fail to see the glory of Jesus our Creator
in Gen. 1-2.

D.        We need to see Jesus our Creator as we think on the beauty of the natural realm, the material realm. If we miss
the revelation of the Davidic Kingdom restored from Jerusalem to all nations, of course then we fail to see Jesus as King
of the nations. We see Him as God but He is more than God, although that is the ultimate. He loves the physical realm.
He created it under His Father’s authority.

E.        As Gentile believers we are most comfortable with the paradigm of worshipping Jesus as God in the supernatural
conditions of heaven. We emphasize Jesus’ deity. We emphasize Jesus as the Son of God and all of those things are
very true and very awesome and truths that we delight in forever and forever. The Jewish paradigm is quite different.
When they think of the Messiah they do not think of worshipping Him as God, they think of reigning with Him as a man.
They do not think of the supernatural conditions of heaven. They think of reigning with Him on the natural conditions
of the earth. They emphasize the Messiah’s humanity as the son of David and we emphasize His deity as the Son of God.
