APOSTOLIC REVELATION OF CHRIST:
I. JUSTICE LIES AT THE CORE OF THE GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM
A. Justice lies at the very core of the gospel of the kingdom, as it is the very foundation of the throne of God.
“Clouds and darkness surround Him; Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.”
Psalm 97:2
B. The subject of justice lies as the very core of the apostolic gospel as proclaimed by the Son of God and the apostles
of the early church. The establishing of Justice is central to the 1st and the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ
1 “Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring
forth justice to the Gentiles. 2 He will not cry out, nor raise His voice, nor cause His voice to be heard in the street. 3 A
bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth. 4 He will not fail nor
be discouraged, till He has established justice in the earth; and the coastlands shall wait for His law.” Isaiah 42:1-4
C. The subject of justice on the earth is vast and complex starting our need to be justified in the court of heaven as
individuals but the gospels also covers the vast subject of justice related to abortion, poverty, misogyny, oppression
in the marketplace, law enforcement, medicine, education, employment, public services, racism (systemized prejudice),
corruption, sexuality, immigration laws, the church’s posture before and interaction with government, the individual
destiny of nations, etc.
D. The issue that is facing the church in regards to the subject is not a new humanitarian method or program but it is the
issue apostolic ministry of intercession, the apostolic gospel that is to be brought to the poor and the oppressed with
apostolic power flowing from apostolic lifestyles. The poor and the oppressed need a message that will raise them up out
of the ash heap of their personal depravity, individual and corporate oppression.
E. The Apostolic Church must again return to the DNA of the apostolic gospel, preach the message with power and
authority calling the poor and the oppressed to the central message of the kingdom. The true gospel will fuel with
endurance the poor and the oppressed for the greatest crisis that lies ahead of them. It will fuel them with a vision of
meekness by which they can inherit the earth.
“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on
the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it
was founded on the rock.” Matthew 7:24-25
11 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” 1 Cor 3:11
II. INJUSTICE: GOD WONDERED THAT THERE WAS NO INTERCESSOR
A. God cares intensely about injustice in the earth. The biggest accusation against God in regards to injustice is
that He gets charged with indifference. The scripture tell us that God is filled with deep displeasure and that He brought
about a solution at the highest cost imaginable – He gave us His Son.
14 “Justice is turned back, and righteousness stands afar off; for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. 15 So
truth fails, and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. Then the LORD saw it, and it displeased Him that there
was no justice.” Isaiah 59:14-15
B. God sees injustice in the earth on the earth and it displeased the Lord
1. Justice turned back – action of righteousness
2. Righteousness stands afar - values
3. Truth is fallen in the street - integrity
4. Equity cannot enter - fairness
5. Truth fails - honesty
6. Those pursuing righteousness get persecuted
C. The premier human solution to bring about justice in the earth is partnering with the God through intercession
(59:16). In the midst of the midst of the injustice (59:14-15) God shows Isaiah that there is yet a greater crisis in the land,
which is that God, saw that there was no intercessor.
D. God answers this crisis by providing the intercessor He was looking for - His own Son becoming a Man and
became the intercessor that He was looking for. It was in the cross of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:2) that God’s full provision
for justice was made, which justice will be brought into full manifestation of His justice at His coming.
“He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor; therefore His own arm (power and ability) brought
salvation for Him; and His own righteousness, it sustained Him.” Isaiah 59:16
“And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals.
Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy (qualified) to open the scroll and to loose its
seals(to establish justice in the earth Isaiah 42:2)?” And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able
to open the scroll, or to look at it.(John wonders if there is an intercessor – Isa. 59:16)” Revelation 5:1-3
“But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed
(His own arm brought salvation for Him) to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.(establish justice Isa 42:4)”
“And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders,
stood a Lamb as though it had been slain,(Isa 59:16) having seven horns and seven eyes (He is endued with the full
manifestation of the Spirit Isa 42:1, Isa 59:21, Isa 61:1), which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth.
Then He came and took the scroll (the blueprint for justice) out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.”
Revelation 5:5 -7
III. ISAIAH 42 A VISION STATEMENT FOR JUSTICE
A. The issue that is facing the church in regards to the subject is not a new humanitarian method or program but
it is the issue apostolic ministry of intercession and the apostolic gospel that is to be brought to the poor and the
oppressed with apostolic power that flows from apostolic lifestyles. The poor and the oppressed need a message that
will raise them up out of the ash heap of their personal depravity, individual and corporate oppression.
B. There is a crisis in America and in the church of America greater then any form of social injustice. There is a
great need in this hour for the apostolic preaching of the beauty and the splendor of the Man Christ Jesus.
27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in
you, the hope of glory. 28 Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present
every man perfect in Christ Jesus. 29 To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily.
15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace, 16 to reveal His
Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles
C. Isaiah 42:1-4 is one of the clearest prophetic statements concerning God’s vision for justice. It is essential that
we lay a proper foundation with biblical contexts concerning the issue of justice lest human sentiment or partisan politic
al agendas drive us.
D. The issue of justice is more then a political agenda. The vision for justice lies deep within the heart of God.
God is the God of justice, He loves justice (Mic 6:8), His vision is to establish justice on the earth, and will see to it that
it happens.
E. There is emerging in the earth a false justice movement that is rooted in politics and humanism and completely
devoid of the apostolic revelation of Jesus Christ. If we do not address the issue of social justice the way the scripture
wants to answer the issues we will drift and neglect our great salvation (Heb 2:1) The growing social justice movement
is fueled by humanism, which seeds cause the questioning of the sufficiency of the gospel of the kingdom.
1 “Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.” Heb 2:1
IV. THE APOSTOLIC MANDATE TO BEHOLD THE JUST ONE
14 Then he said, ‘The God of our fathers has chosen you (the apostle Paul) that you should know His will, and see the Just
One, and hear the voice of His mouth. 15 For you will be His witness to all men of what you have seen and heard.
Acts 22:14-15
A. There is an apostolic mandate coming from heaven calling us back in this hour to experience the Spirit of
revelation so we can know, see and hear the Just One. It pleases the Father to do so. The revealing of His Son is
according to His deep and holy pleasure. The beginning point of justice is responding to the call of God to again set our
gaze upon the Son of God and then call the nation of the earth to do the same.
15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace, 16 to reveal
His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood …
” Galatians 1:15-16
B. The administrator of divine justice is the delight of the Father’s soul. The Father invites us to behold His.
He invites us to gaze upon His Souls delight. He is inviting us to the come and do the one thing needed.
1 “Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will
bring forth justice to the Gentiles.
V. A PROPHETIC PATTERN FOR THE MESSAGE OF JUSTICE - ISAIAH 42:1-4
A. Behold! My Servant whom I uphold …
1. Call to the lovesick gaze of encountering the beauty and the personhood of Christ the Lamb.
2. Call to an apostolic determination to know Christ and Him crucified. (1 Cor 2:2)
3. Prophetic proclamation of Christ (Rev 19:10)
B. My Elect One in who my soul delights …
1. Proclaiming the love and zeal of the Father for His Son (Matt 3:17)
2. Call to heed and obey the Son of God (Mt 17:5)
3. Encountering the love and the zeal of the Father for His Son (Jn 17:26)
4. Proclaiming the Elect One as God’s final word and sole revelation of God (Heb 1:1-3)
5. Proclaim Christ as the appointed heir of all things (Ps 2:6-7)
C. I have put My Spirit upon Him …
1. The revelation of His supernatural ability (Isa 11:1-3)
2. The revelation of His power and authority (Eph 1:19)
D. He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles…
1. The Father’s vision for justice
2. The purpose of the Son’s 1st and the 2nd coming
E. 2 He will not cry out, nor raise His voice, nor cause His voice to be heard in the street. 3 A bruised reed He will not
break, and smoking flax He will not quench; He will bring forth justice for truth.
1. The patience of Christ
2. The gentleness of wisdom of Christ
F. 4 He will not fail nor be discouraged, till He has established justice in the earth; and the coastlands shall wait for His law.”
1. Assurance of justice
2. Christ’s determination and holy zeal for justice.
G. In this hour the Lord is calling for His people to respond to the apostolic mandate to encounter the revelation of
the Just One. As we encounter Him we will be able to properly discern the word of the Lord to the nations of the earth.
12 For I neither received it (gospel) from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Galatians 1:12
