The Spiritual Force of Mammon

The Intercessory Community needs to come into unity when praying for the will of God. Many times we are praying in an
incorrect direction and thus our prayers are not really effective. The spirit of mammon is the driving force of our world and
can be the driving force even of our prayers. As Intercessors we need to understand the times we are living in so that we
can fully understand how to pray.
1. The 4 forces that are at work in the earth:
A. The Spirit of God
o Psalm 24:1 – “The earth is the Lord’s, and all it contains, the world and those who dwell in it.”
B. The Devil
o John 10:10 – “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may
have life, and
that they may have it more abundantly.”
C. The will of man
o Joshua 24:15 – “If serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you
will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land
you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."
D. The groanings of creation
o Romans 8:22, 19 – “For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth…anxiously longing
for the revealing of the sons of God.”
2. One of the greatest things the earth has ever contended with is the worship of mammon.
A. Mammon:
• Used in only 1 passage of scripture
• The personification of wealth
Luke 16:9-13 [Matthew 6:24] – “And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by unrighteous mammon, that when you fail, they
may receive you into an everlasting home. He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust
in what is least is unjust also in much. Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will
commit to your trust the true riches? And if you have not been faithful in what is another man’s, who will give you what is
your own?
“No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one
and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”
B. End-time Babylon is mammon personified; it is a united economic, political, spiritual system.
Revelation 18:3 – “For all the nations have drunk the maddening wine of her adulteries. The kings of the earth committed
adultery with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuries."
v. 11 – “The merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her because no one buys their cargoes any more.”
v.23 – “For your merchants were the great men of the earth, for by your sorcery all the nations were deceived.”
3. One of the primary motivations for global government is money.
A. In America we are watching corporations push us towards globalism for the sake of profits.
• Federal Reserve Bank
• Banking makes major profits by loaning money
• Almost all major media is controlled by a handful of businesses
• Politics are driven by the money
• When mammon is in charge it’s agenda is bondage not freedom
B. The following quote was attributed to Alexander Tyler in the 1700's as he was studying the downfall of democracies.
- From bondage to spiritual faith;
- From spiritual faith to great courage;
- From courage to liberty;
- From liberty to abundance;
- From abundance to complacency;
- From complacency to apathy;
- From apathy to dependence;
- From dependency back into bondage.
C. We are watching mammon grab a stronger hold on our country and our world through fear and deception.
Matthew 24:4-8 – “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’
and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things
must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there
will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.”

E. Significant changes since 9/11:
• Patriot Act – Has a very scary resemblance to the Enabling Act passed in Germany after the Reichstag Fire. It
temporarily suspended
civil liberties to deal with the terrorist threat posed by Communists.
• John Warner Defense Authorization Act – suspension of the Posse Comitatus Act
o Hurricane Katrina
o Blackwater
• NSPD-51/ HSPD20 – Executive power available to the president
• Rendition Program – Habeas corpus suspended for suspected terrorists
o Guantanamo – built by Haliburton

Psalm 91:5 – “You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day…”
We need to recognize the significance of the hour. As an intercessor are you really looking at what is going on? There
are forces at work in this very hour. Do you love God more than you love money? May your prayer be: Rend my heart,
God – Search me!
