KEYS OF THE KINGDOM – Matthew 16:19 – When the Jews made a man a doctor of the law, they put into his hand the
key of the closet in the Temple where the sacred books were kept, and also tablets to write upon, signifying by this that
they gave him authority to teach, and to explain the Scriptures to the people. This was a prophetic declaration of our
Lord fulfilled in Peter
KIDNAPPED - God is going to capture your heart in a new way if dream of this
KIDNEYS - inner man; will, affections
• The kidneys were viewed as the seat of the emotions
• The kidneys – reins – are often used in scripture for the most secret workings and affections of the heart. The kidneys
and their fat were always to be burnt in sacrifice, to indicate that the most secret purposes and affections of the soul are
to be devoted to Go.
KINGDOM - God’s method of doing things
Fact Truth
Sick By His stripes I am healed
In the world But not LIKE the world
--In a kingdom you don’t vote. Jesus not worried about your vote. Word of the King is law.
--Bible is a kingdom book, not a democratic book. When King says adultery is sin, He isn’t calling a meeting to discuss
--How it operates: His strength is made perfect when we experience weakness in the flesh(2 Corinthians 12:9)
--His strength perfected in our experience
--Involuntary weakness is the attack of the enemy, persecution, etc.
--when things going wrong and you answer by a fasted lifestyle
--Order; under authority of King, a royal race, government of God, produced by suffering
KINGDOM OF HEAVEN - Note from Living Bible (Matthew 13:24) it is not necessarily a geographic place, but a spiritual
realm in which God rules and in which we have God’s eternal life.
--Kingdom of God not in word but in power (1 Corinthians 4)
--Kingdom of God/Kingdom of heaven = gospel dispensation (Hebrews 12:28) (Clark)
--God’s sovereign rule in the universe. IN saying Kingdom was “at hand” Jesus was saying that God’s kingdom was here
because God’s king was here
--(Nee) The kingdom refers to the men of the kingdom of the heavens who shall rule therein. A certain company of
men come into being. Without them, this kingdom would never arrive. Thus Matthew 5 tells us what kind of persons
these men are to be. The Lord doesn’t focus on environment, but people.
--Wherever and whenever the believers become like the men described in the teaching on the Mount, there comes the
kingdom of the heavens. When a very special and new company of believers comes into being, then and there the
kingdom is present.
--Matthew 13 speaks of another aspect of the kingdom. The seven parables there show us what the kingdom is like.
When the kingdom of the heavens is preached on earth, these show us what are the historical courses it takes. It is the
outward appearance of the kingdom. It is the Christianity that the world sees, the outward appearance of Christianity
in this age.
--Let us not despise the testing of the Lord. For through testing the life within us is manifested. The greater the
demands of God are upon this divine life, the greater is the manifestation of what is in this life. It is God who commands,
but it is also God, by His divine life within us, who keeps the commandment. God Himself fulfills what He demands....When
we believers go ahead to follow the teaching on the Mount found in Matthew 5-7, we unconsciously fulfill it. The
impossibles become possibles. And precisely this is what it is to be a Christian, the daily showing forth of what is
impossible in oneself ... Romans 6:14 says that this which we have in Matthew 5-7 is what is truly under grace.
The teaching on the Mount creates for this world many individuals whom this world is not worthy to have. It is not
enough for these persons just to have life. There also needs to be a demand upon this life; otherwise, this divine life will
not be manifested. this life is able to meet every one of the challenges of the teaching on the Mount! Without such
demand, the exceedingly great power of the Lord in us may not be expressed. But when there is this demand, and that
demand is met in the lives of men, then there is truly Christianity. On the one hand there is testing, on the other hand
there is the supply of Christ. And when both are present, there is Christianity, there is the kingdom of the heavens.
• Matthew 5-7 gives the contents of the kingdom of the heavens. Matthew 13 discloses the outward appearance of
the kingdom of the heavens … the kingdom of the heavens refers to the present age. It is true that the kingdom of the
heavens includes the millennium, but it is not altogether absent today nor has it been postponed till the millennial period
has actually arrived. We know that the kingdom of the heavens in the millennium shall include Abraham, Isaac and Jacob
(see Matthew 8:11), but John according to the Lord here, is even greater than these, thus proving that John too is to be
included in the kingdom of the heavens. Matthew 11 Nee
KINGDOM OF HEAVENS - used by John the Baptist - Matthew 3:2
--God was God of heavens and earth until Ezra 1:2 when it was changed to “God of heaven” because Israel
destroyed as a nation.
--Kingdom of heavens began with John. It’s first lesson: repentance
KINGDOM OF TRUTH - (JFB) Our Lord here not only affirms that His word had in it a self-evidencing, self-recommending
power, but gently insinuated the true secret of the growth and grandeur of his kingdom -- as a Kingdom of truth, in
its highest sense, into which all souls who have learned to live and count all things but loss for the truth are, by a most
heavenly attraction, drawn as into their proper element; the King of whom Jesus is fetching them in and ruling them
by His captivating power over their hearts (John 18:37)

--He calls her to Himself in the intimacy of the fellowship of suffering
--He calls her to open her heart to new depths in the Holy Spirit
--His purpose in knocking is to draw our hearts into a new opening for Him, rather than new opening of circumstances
--He wants us to open to Him that our hearts would grow in love; to endure hardship is a sweet and powerful realty

1. With an absolute and complete knowledge
2. Learn by experience

--use familiarity as an opportunity to betray (John 18:2)
--use closeness and privacies to cause another harm
--recognize
