I. JESUS REVEALED THE FATHER
A. Jesus came to reveal the Father to the human race and to offer relationship with Him. The cry of our heart is to see
the Father. This is one of the Holy Spirit’s primary focuses in the end times.
7 If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.
8 Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us." 9 Jesus said, "…He who has seen Me has seen the
Father…” (Jn. 14:7-9)
B. God’s names reveal His personality. He has over 300 names in Scripture that reveal facets of His personality.
The revelation of the Father dominates Jesus’ revelation of what God is like.
26 I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it… (Jn. 17:26)
C. From the beginning God had a Father’s heart. He planned to have a family. The Spirit cries out through, “Abba”
which is a term of endearment like papa that is respectful yet intimate. It expresses the confidence of receiving kindness
and affection. The Abba revelation empowers us to endure difficulty and to reject Satan’s accusations that we are
hopeless failures.
15 You received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father." (Rom. 8:15)
D. The measure of the Father’s love for Jesus is the measure of His love for us. This is the ultimate revelation of our
worth. It gives every believer the right to view themselves as “God's favorite”.
23 That the world may know that You…have loved them as You have loved Me. (Jn 17:23)
E. Our lives are broken and unsettled until we know the embrace of the Father. God put a bias in our spirit to long
for His touch as our Father. We need the assurance that we are enjoyed by God in our weakness. This comes first by
the revelation that the Father longs for us and enjoys us.
F. God does not confuse spiritual immaturity with rebellion. God loves unbelievers, yet He loves and enjoys believers.
He immediately rejoices over us at the time of our repentance. He smiles over us when we begin the growth process with
repentance, long before we attain maturity.
4 What man…having a hundred sheep…does not leave the ninety-nine…and go after the one…? 5 When he has found
it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing…6 he calls together his friends…saying to them, 'Rejoice with me, for I have
found my sheep which was lost!' 7 There will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents... (Lk. 15:4-7)
G. Jesus feels compassion over the prodigals on the day they repent. God revealed His enjoyment of the prodigal
son by the father giving him the best robes (Lk. 15:22). This newly repentant yet immature prodigal son had many areas
of his life that still needed transformation.
18 I will…say to him, “Father, I have sinned…” 20 He arose and came to his father. When he was still a great way off, his
father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck
and kissed him. 22 The father said to his servants, “Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand
and sandals on his feet...” (Lk. 15:18-22)
H. This parable is not primarily about a son who lost his inheritance but about a father who lost his son and how the
father gets his son back. We can have a new beginning with God as a first class citizen after we sincerely repent. We
“push delete” after we have sincerely repented.
22 Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every
morning; great is Your faithfulness. (Lam. 3:22-23)
II. HELPING OTHERS ENCOUNTER THE FATHER
A. The Father blesses us with His favor, approval and provision that we may walk in our destiny. God raises up
spiritual fathers to help others connect with His approval and destiny for them.
5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. 6 And he will
turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the
earth with a curse. (Mal. 4:5-6)
B. There will be a widespread connection of spiritual fathers and mothers with young people. This is the first
generation in which children are influenced more outside their home than inside it.
17 In the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams…18 I will pour out My Spirit in those days; they
shall prophesy. (Acts 2:17-19)
C. Prophetic spirit: God is a creative thinker who “thinks outside the box”. Prophetic dreams allow us to receive a part
of His creative plan for this generation. God is raising up spiritual fathers who will dream God’s dreams and then create
the context for others to be blessed by the Father.
D. It is our inheritance to receive creative ideas from God because we were created in His image. To dream is to
receive a vision for change or new possibilities. Dare to dream God’s dreams and then walk them out. The devil actively
works in this way. He gives “creative” ideas to walk in evil. For example, the leaders in the porno industry have dreams
to touch many in “new” ways.
E. God has a dream for this generation and for each nation and individual. God put you on this earth to dream to be
part of the miracle of His end-time Church that will powerfully touch all nations.
F. God will give you creative ways to touch people in both small and large groups. He will give new “outside the box”
ideas on what to do in the marketplace, many different types of ministries, relationships, songs, books, movies, and
so much more.
G. Each person’s gift or talent represents part of the dream in God’s heart for them. It is estimated that 98% of people
are followers of culture and 2% are shapers of culture. Most are culture zombies instead of culture shapers. They take
their cues form the media and fashion industry.
H. God wants to do something great in our generation. God wants us to dream in this generation. Most of the media
is a dream killer. In it, we are merely participating in someone’s dream. The movie maker started with a dream or an idea
then they got other people to finance it etc.
