My Dictionary - "F"

FACE - forehead to chin; surface of a thing as approached; countenance; overall appearance

FACE OF GOD – walk before God – live conscious of His presence (face).  The face of God signifies both His presence and

•        The face of God is the personality of God as turned toward men (Z)

FACE OF THE LORD – see the face of My Father – the happiness of heaven consists in the vision of God, beholding His

Matthew 18:10

FACELESS MAN - typically represents the Holy Spirit

FACTS TO TRUST (TLO)
The fact:  must learn God’s plan
The faith:  must believe, commit to God’s plan
The force:  must act on, go with God’s plan
Fact = what I am is not what I’m gonna be.  Principle = I can change.

FAILURES - all due to self-centeredness (RJ)  Deliverance by love that does not seek its own.

FAIREST - most beautiful

FAITH - If in faith you put no pressure on people
--if put pressure on people you are an actor/hypocrite
--anything or pressure you put on someone to meet your needs is works:  looking to them for your source
--begging (instead of being in faith) starts as a child by example
--faith is responsiveness to His will (Mountains of Spices p 178)
--Key to life of faith:  live the same all the time based on word of God no matter what happens
     --Spelled “R I S K” -- John Wimber
--True faith is not an emotion or feeling.  It is not even confidence that something can be done.
--True faith is the recognition of who Jesus is and the authority that He has.
--Faith is simply the recognition of the One Who we believe (RJ)
--unquestioning belief that does not require proof or evidence
--Hearing from God and doing what He says
--Means you have no alternatives (RJ)
--Is not knowledge derived from the senses but an assent of the soul to what enters through hearing (JoC)
--As gold tried in the fire expresses faith tested by fiery trials
--The way faith works in experience is something like this:  the believing man is overwhelmed suddenly by a powerful
feeling that ONLY GOD MATTERS; soon this works itself out into his mental life and conditions all his judgments and all
his values.  Now he finds himself free from slavery to man’s opinions.  Soon he learns to love above all else the assurance
that he is well-pleasing to the Father in heaven.  (Tozer)
•        Faith is the opposite of self-reliance (Z)
•        Faith is seeking God diligently for reward.  Faith really is more accurately seeking God as our reward. (DL)
•        Weak faith receives immediate comfort (Luke 8:44, 47, 48); strong faith is tried with delay (Matthew 15:22,23) (JFB)

Seven Principles of Faith (From “The Fourth Dimension”)
     1.  Pray specifically and definitely - do not be vague.
     2.  After I pray specifically, I must keep the faith.  Pray until I have the assurance (substance) in my heart.  Put myself in
neutral gear - calm in heart - wait on the Lord.  Ask God for a signal from my circumstances.  Pray for God’s timing - His
timing different from mine.  Pray until peace is the chief umpire.
     3.  Once I have assurance, I won’t beg God for reality.  I must speak the word of faith.
     4.  It is my responsibility to supply miracles in my life.
     5.  Speak creative words and be bold.  Before I can be changed, I must change my language.  I cannot change myself.
     6.  Pray for God to reveal His will through my desire - pray “Lord, now give me the desire according to your will”  - wait -
desires can come from self or satan but God’s desires hold true -         compare to Scriptures.
     7.  Do not confine thinking to traditional patters of thoughts - be revolutionary.  Think in terms of miracles.  Orient my
mind to God’s success - God never fails.

--All true faith is obedient.  .... The night of ignorance and unbelief was once the sleeping time; but when the Sun of
righteousness arises, and it is day in the soul, then the creature rises to work......The devil himself can pass for a believer
as well as a disobedient soul.  Faith is prayerful.  Thanksgiving is an act of self-denial, and it is faith alone that shows us
the way out of our own self-centeredness.  Faith is uniform in its acting. (Garnell)
--Faith is a time rebel; everything starts in the invisible world; faith is to sing when you don’t have it; faith is the  conductor
of the power of God.  “Sing”  Isaiah 54:1-3 (PP)
--Blind Faith - act like it when you don’t have it
--the evidence of faith is rest
--faith without corresponding action is dead
--Faith is the proximate means of the ascent means of union of God.  The means that really brings us into union with God
is faith.  All other kinds of things are less than proximate things to union with God.  The thing that really moves us quickly
into union with God is faith.
•        Three ways to lose faith:
1.        Tempting (Matthew 18:7-9)
2.        Neglecting or demeaning (18:10-14)
3.        Teaching false doctrine (18:15-26)

FAITH by Bob Sorge:  1.  Coming to Christ;  2. Calling on God;  3. Staying in His face;  4. Seeking Him diligently;
5. Never giving up on Him

FAITHFUL - trustworthy  2 Timothy 2:11-13

FALL OF MAN - Fall of Adam was a soul fall:  soul naturally reaches out for understanding

FALLING - and waking up.  A physiological condition, not a spiritual condition

FALLING AWAY – what causes people to fall away?  When what they thought would happen didn’t or didn’t happen the
way they expected. (JH)

FALLOW - contented with yourself and the fruit once bore.  Does not want to be disturbed.  Always in accustomed place.
Fruitless.  Fixed.

FALSE - you are “false” when assume to something you have not been commissioned to

FALSE BRETHREN - made known to us by signs (not words).  Know them by their fruit MHp1586         (John 13:26)

FALSE HUMILITY - denies (Psalm 66:6; Acts 21:19; 1 Corinthians 15:10)

FALSE PROPHETS – they are more likely at the first at any rate to be self-deceived than deceivers.  It is its hunger, not
its malignity, that gives the wolf its reputation.  So it is with the man that would serve both God and mammon.  He serves
God provided he can have mammon too.  Only those actions that reveal character are a valid test with such men.  (Z)

FASCINATION – supposed to be exercised through the eyes (W)

FAST - Isaiah 58:6-8 Is not this the fast that I have chosen (lifestyle):
     1.  To loose the bonds of wickedness
     2.  Undo the heavy burdens
     3.  Let the oppressed go free
     4.  Break every yoke
     5.  Deal they bred to the hungry
     6.  Bring out poor tot hey house
     7.  Cover the naked
     8.  Hide not yourself from your own flesh

FASTING - removes spiritual cataracts
--Loosens dragon of pride, filthiness of spirit
--Cleanse by facing, talk about it, not being offended when somebody talks about it, not surprised by it.
--If religious spirit feel that fasting motivates God
--We should fast to feel more of what God feels
--Old Testament fasting was to avert a crisis
--New Testament fasting is motivated by love sickness and growing in the love level
--fasting gets you under God’s authority and leadership
--no food or drink for three days, night or day - Esther 4:16
•        Afflict your souls – well indicated the spiritual aim of fasting.  As the principal source of sin is the gratification of
bodily appetites, the fast is to demonstrate to the sinner that man can conquer all physical cravings, that the spirit can
always master the body.  The abstention from all food and from gratification of other bodily desires must be accompanied
by deep remorse at having fallen short of what it was in our power to be and to do as members of the House of Israel.
Without such contrite confession, accompanied by the solemn resolve to abandon the way of evil, fasting in itself is not
the fulfillment of the Divine command and purpose of the Day of Atonement.  Repentance, prayer and beneficence can
change the whole current of a man’s life and destiny and lead to perfect atonement. (Penn & Haft)
•        Afflict your souls – fasting – the intensest form of devotion and contrition  Leviticus 23:27

FAT - Ezekiel 44 – The fat and the blood never went into common use; they were wholly offered to God.  The blood was
poured out; the fat consumed (AC)

FATHER - God the Father; provides

FATHER’S HEART - This attitude of the Father towards the child:  the child carrying on is as the highest of human
treasures.  Genesis 15:2  Jewish thought is that little children are as “the Messiahs of mankind”, i.e., the child is the
perennial regenerative force in humanity because in the child God continually gives mankind a chance to make good its
mistakes.

FAULT/JUDGING - We see fault in other people because we ourselves have fault.  The more unclean one is, the more
he is able to see uncleanness in others.  The holier one is, the less he will find fault in others.  A good-natured person
finds no fault whatsoever.  The beam in your own eye causes you to notice even the tiniest mote in your brother’s eye.
What you have much of inside you, this you tend to comprehend and see more of the same in other people (WN)

FAWNS - youthful and still energetically nurture with milk.  The inward life is balanced and wholesome (SOS7:3)

FAVOR -- is the ability to change when given the choice by Word of God.  True favor comes from the leader and the
people.  The Absalom spirit has favor of people.

FEAR - In three realms:  Power (sickness, disease) need Savior to conquer
                                People - spirit of love
                                Personal - self-discipline conquers
--is only an absence of trust and confidence in the goodness of God towards you
--an emotion characterized by alarm, anxiety, and tension, often caused by an expectation of danger or pain.  It is
a dread birthed through anxiety and tension whether real or imagined producing timidity and cowardice.  It is a form of
bondage and spiritual slavery.  Anger and disillusionment is the offspring of fear.
--Root of fear is little faith (Matthew 8:26)

FEAR OF GOD – fear or dread of offending God – becomes love of God

FEAR OF THE LORD - the sum of what the law requires
--a conventional phrase equivalent to “true religion”.  Fear in this phrase has the sense of reverential trust in God
that includes commitment to his revealed will (word)

FEAR OF MAN - all insecurity based on fear of man (R Shelton)

FEASTS OF ISRAEL:
     A.  The Church will fulfill the three feasts (the God who changes not) given to Abraham

             2.  There is a fulfillment of the feasts in Christ
     B.  Three feasts set Israel apart

             2.  Other nations worshiped dead idols and did what was right in their own eyes (established their own morality)
     C.  Every first born male required to observe these feasts every year
             1.  It is a picture of the redeemed ones
             2.  The first born who opened the womb had to be redeemed
             3.  Redeemed with a lamb
             4.  A picture of being redeemed by the blood of the Lamb
     D.  The Feasts
             1.  Passover - a foreshadow of Jesus on Calvary
                     a.  You must keep this experientially in your life
                     b.  You have received the blood of the Lamb sprinkled on the door posts of your life and entered into blood
covenant relationship with God to become a part of His peculiar people

                     c.  The feast just before Feast of Tabernacles is Rosh Hashanah - The Feast of Trumpets
                             (1)  Blowing of shofar during that time
                             (2)  In recent years, the shofar being blown in the Church
                             (3)  Sign of the times
                             (4)  The shofar declares the day of atonement, then comes the ingathering
                     d.  This happens naturally in the Jewish calendar cycle in the time of the latter rain

--Last day of Feast of Tabernacles which is the eighth day, they celebrate “The joy of the law” - sing and rejoice for
24 hours over the law - rejoicing that God has spoken to man.  In an ultra-orthodox sect celebrating this feast and going
to the “the Wall”, a rabbi said “Look around you (area filled with Jews and Gentile Christians) at all of these Gentiles who
have come to this place and praying, here day and night, worshiping and rejoicing.  They have more passion for our holy
places than we do.  We must learn from them.”  A type of something being restored.  Feast of Tabernacles will be
celebrated every year during millennium and forever.

FEATHERS - breath of God floating on you, to see if he can take you as a living sacrifice to be used for His Son, the Body

FELLOWSHIP OF SUFFERING -

suffering) --> fellowship of suffering
--true fellowship = complete exposure (RJ)

FERVENT DESIRE - an outward expression of:  lifting your eyes to heaven (John 17:1)

FEVER - is contagious.  It is also a type of sin.  It signifies the restlessness of sin.  Fever is the opposite of rest.  The
nature of sin is uncleanness and disabling, and the result of sin is to be without peace.  Fever speaks of the current
consequence that sin brings in.  Sin produces unsatisfaction and unrest in our soul.  It causes impatience and anxiety.
Why is it that the world needs so much amusement?  Because its people need these many stimulations to help them
forget their distresses.  The more the unrest and unhappiness inside, the greater the desire for outside stimuli.  Drinking,
for example, is to wash away sorrow.  We have no sorrow, so we have not the need of washing it away with alcohol.

FEW - Bride (Matthew 22;14)

FIELD - harvest field is singular/one

FIERY DART - attack of enemy

FIG - man covered with fig leaves -- covered himself with God’s creation.  God killed the animal and took skin of sacrifice
and clothed them

FIG LEAF - The fig leaf was a barrier.  In marriage, lack of spiritual, emotional, and intellectual intimacy usually precedes
a breakdown of physical intimacy.
     --religious works

FIG TREE – three areas to watch:  carousing or dissipation, drunkenness, and the cares of this life.  Carousing or
dissipation refers to living your life aimlessly, wastefully, spending your life resources with a party spirit.  The Lord says
that living this way will weigh your heart down.  You will get dull, and in the hour when your heart heeds to be most vibrant
and able to respond, your love will be cold and you will be easily offended.  Drunkenness refers to mind-altering escapes;
cares of this life are your money, your position, and how you fit into the scheme of things.  Each of these things can
weigh down the heart and kill the flame of spiritual passion within.  (MB)

FIGS - grow even in wintertime.  The fig puts forth green figs just before mature figs.

FIND - to follow one’s own natural desire, in thus making one’s self happy.  Matthew 10:39

FINGERS - activity of working faith (SOS5:5)

FIRE = purging and purification.  In Deut. 5:22-31 Moses said God offered His voice, with fire but they didn’t want a
purging process and so came up with the alternative solution for Moses to go.  (Preferred a list of laws rather than a
personal relationship)
     - everlasting fire (Matthew 25:41) = wrath of the eternal God
--(RW) There is in, by, under, as fire (Peter was standing “by” the fire - afar off) (Three Hebrew children were “in” the fire)
“the God who had appeared to them as fire throughout their long history was now dwelling in them as fire” (Pentecost).

manifestation of His zeal to establish love in the universe.  The fire of God in one group of Scriptures speaks of God’s
fiery affections and the fire of God in other passages speaks of God’s judgments.  Both of them speak of God’s zeal and
fiery heart to establish His people according to the glory that He has determined from ages past.

FLAMES OF FIRE -- The Lord makes His messengers flames of fire.  You cannot walk with God, or fulfill His purpose on
the earth unless you keep this fire burning in your heart.  Lukewarmness and cold love are your deadly enemies.  The fire
that now burns in your heart must be given fuel each day.  Its fuel is the atmosphere of heaven.  The atmosphere of
heaven is the breath of God - what He breathes upon lives.

FLAMINGO - instruments that carry out God’s purposes

FLATTERY - Jesus did not speak this in front of John’s disciples, He spoke it after they left.  He would not so much as

--someone with a character deficiency, not a mental one.
--The former speaks a man without sense (raca), this speaks a man without grace (fool); the more the reproach
touches his spiritual condition, the worse it is.  Malicious slanders and censures are poison under the tongue, that kills
secretly and lowly.  It is an evidence of such an ill-will to our neighbor as would strike at his life, if it were in our power.
(Matthew 5:23)

rise.  They spoke of Christ, but he pointed to Him;  he said “Behold the Lamb of God”.  Matthew 11:9
