EAGLE - when old will sore to great heights; beats old beak and feathers off; youth is renewed; can see far below and into
the heavenlies; Will give a shriek and take off into heavenlies
--When female eagle finds a male she is interested in (the mate for life) she drops a stick about the weight of a baby
eagle and sees if he can catch it. If he does she drops a branch that is her weight to see if he can catch it. They have a
relationship if he does. She wants someone to catch her in the spirit - equally yoked.
How eagles renew their strength: (Isaiah 40:31)
-flies up to highest part of mountain
-plucks out all his feathers
-gets next to a big rock and beats his old worn out break against it until beak comes off
-fasts until his beak and feathers grow back
-when he comes soaring back, his eyes aren’t dim anymore, his body isn’t weak. His strength is renewed and his
life span doubled
--go to high places of prayer
--fellowship with Him; draw near to our rock: Jesus
--beat against Rock until rid ourselves of world
--eagles scream before kill their enemies; force situations when scream
--Prophetic if in dreams
--strength, power
--sees 80 times better than man
• The eagle takes his prey from lofty places so that the other birds will not see him (JP) (Ezekiel 17)
EAR - gateway to your spirit
• The eye must give way to the ear. If thy hand, thy foot, or thine eye, cause thee to offend, deprive thyself of them; but
part not with your ear, for that is an organ to derive unto the soul’s salvation. The way into the house is by the door, not
by the window; the eye is but the window of the heart, the ear is the door. Now Christ stands knocking at the door, not at
the window; and he will not come in by the window, but by the door. The way to open and let Him in is by the door; to hear
His voice.
• A text carries in it a poetical allusion to the consulting of the cloud of glory, which was between the cherubims, and
to the receiving answer from it upon all critical occasions.

it? Hearing means do you understand, and are you going to do something about it. It’s an RSVP – He wants a response
to what He has said.

ELISHA - a type of you and me
EMBARRASSMENT - is pride found out with a regret of having to turn loose of it. (K Moore)
--The humble cannot be embarrassed. When you start to feel embarrassed, it is because you are beginning to move in pride.
Let the embarrassment be a warning that you have departed from wisdom. Never let embarrassment control
your actions. If it does, you will fall even further. Learn to embrace every opportunity to be humbled, knowing that I will
then be able to trust you with more authority. (RJ)
EMOTIONS - ability for feelings. --(Nee) to mourn is the highest reaction. Anger and sorrow are also
reactions. But mourning is the deepest as shown in Psalm 42. Why mourn? Because there is love. Without love there
can be no mourning, for there will be no such reaction where love is absent. Without love, there will be neither crying nor
mourning. This, then, is a test. It is not simply an admonition of the Lord. If we encounter such environment and yet are
not sensitive to it, we should ask the Lord to give us burden.

END OF AGE - The ‘end of the age’ refers to the time of Christ’s coming to earth in fulfillment of the Old Testament
prophecies. He ushered in the new era of grace and forgiveness. We are still living in the “last days”. The day of the
Lord has begun and will be completed at Christ’s return. (LB)

ENLARGE THE PLACE OF YOUR TENT - Isaiah 54:1, 2
T. Winslow: a tent is totally mobile
Tents represent:
1. our temporary state
2. encompasses all we are (behavior, good and bad characteristics)
3. constructed and woven out of the vision, hopes, dreams, and abilities we possess
Confusion and frustration comes when we try to fulfill more than one vision and build more than one tent
Required to enlarge tent:
1. Right motives. Godly enlargement proceeds out of proper motivation. Jesus becomes more visible in and through
us as we enlarge in God.
2. Enlargement occurs when we identify the limits we have placed on God. (Can money only come from a certain source?)
3. Enlargement occurs when we realistically identify past fruitfulness and unfruitfulness.
4. Enlargement occurs when we identify our expectations of people. Proverbs 16:7
5. Enlargement requires us to let the past be the past and live today for today
6. Enlargement occurs when we cease living in the dream world and wishes of the future.
7. Enlargement occurs when we begin to see ourselves through the eyes of Jesus. Numbers 13:33
8. Enlargement occurs when we realize that our tent and vision is dependent upon an attitude of humility and a desire
to see other people grow.
ENLIGHTENMENT - the Lord comes to cause a change in man’s conceptions of himself and of God
ENOCH - Blesses the torchbearers because the purpose of every torchbearer is to compel men to do what he did:
“to walk with Me”
--Prophesied the coming of the mighty ones that will soon be released.
--Loved the Lord’s presence above all things. This was his treasure. He was one of the most stable and strongest of all
who have walked on the earth because love is the greatest strength and stability that one can know. It is love that will
keep you faithful.
ENTERTAINMENT - to detain you from entering

ENVY - Numbers 16 - the fiery slaughter illustrates how God feels when you envy what He has sovereignly given to
another, because in so doing you despise that which He has given to you.

displeased at the good of others, and desires their hurt

5. “For such a time as this” Esther was in place to prevent destruction of Jewish people.
a. Esther called for prayer and fasting in preparation
b. Her access to king not based on legal rights or political manipulations
c. Her access founded only upon her relationship with him
6. The fate of the people rested in the hand of the bride
--in book of Esther it is said to contain the exact date of the holocaust
ETERNAL LIFE - This is eternal life, that they may know Thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

EUNUCH: Don’t say I am a dry tree
Lord says to eunuchs who: 1. Keep My Sabbaths
2. Choose the things which please Me.
3. Hold firmly My covenant:
Lord will give:
1. A memorial in My house and within My walls
2. A name better than sons and daughters
3. An everlasting name
EVANGELISM - Following precedes fishing. If we follow Christ (our part), He will make us into fishers of men (His part).
What a relief to know the pressure is not upon us to become a soul-winning superman! Rather, as we devote ourselves
to being Christ’s disciple, He assumes the responsibility of making us into fruitful witnesses
--Perfect pattern of an evangelical preacher (Matthew 4;23)
1. Goes about seeking sinners on every side that he may show them the way to heaven
2. Proclaims the glad tidings of the Kingdom
3. Makes his reputation and the confidence of the people subservient not to his own interest, but to the
salvation of souls

5. Informs people that diseases and temporal ills are the effects of sin
6. States that nothing but the power of God can save them from sin and its consequences
EVERLASTING COVENANT - When we must admit our grace is far from being sufficient, God sends His word to give us new
courage. Listen to David’s last words regarding his household: ‘Although my house be not so with God; yet He has made
me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for this is all my salvation, and all my desire” (2 Samuel 23:5)
. He saw God’s eternal covenant with him as being the same as all his salvation, even though he could not see the
solution to his problem at that moment. The salt of this ‘everlasting covenant’ is that it preserves our weak grace from
corruption. (Gurnall)

EVIL - Good comes from God. Evil is out of the world.
--The uncommon and even unknown way to conquer evil is by personal loss.
--Evil is the opposite of “single”. It means that one is willing neither to forsake the world nor the kingdom. This makes
him a double-minded person. Matthew 6:23. The problem is consecration. If consecration is a problem the eye will
become undependable and the whole body shall be full of darkness.
EVIL EYE – among the Jews meant a malicious, covetous, or envious person
EXAGGERATION – Hebrew humor is done by exaggeration (camel through eye of needle)
EXPERIENCE – conscious awareness. Experience is awareness within a person’s conscious intelligence (Tozer)
EXPLOIT - choose suffering rather than sin
EYE - external influences (Psalm 101)

EYES - Windows of soul; beholding; whatever you gaze upon, you become (2 Corinthians 3:17, 18); battle is over the
eyes; God fascinates the eyes; let’s Beauty pass before us; eyes unlock our hearts; He loves to fascinate the human
heart; He keeps wanting to be seen; seraphim have eyes; the great battle is over the gaze of man; the play of satan to
turn angels gaze off of God (Isaiah 14 & Ezekiel 28)

• As the sense of sight is very quick, and exercises an entire influence over the whole frame, it is no uncommon thing

the restoration will be an obvious work of the Lord
