DANIEL 7-12 OVERVIEW

I.        DANIEL – REVIEW OF THE EARLY YEARS – DEVELOPING A PROPHETIC SPIRIT

A.        “Daniel” means “God is my judge.” Daniel was born during Josiah’s reign around 620 B.C. Josephus maintains that
Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego were from Zedekiah’s family.

B.        Daniel grew up listening to the prophecies of Jeremiah during the reigns of Josiah and Zedekiah. During a time of
national revival and prosperity [Josiah’s reign], Jeremiah spoke of an impending invasion by the Babylonians that would be
catastrophic for Jerusalem [Jeremiah 4: 5-13]. In fact, Jeremiah warns, ‘resist and you will die, surrender and you will go
alive into captivity; and God says, choose life’ [Jeremiah 21: 8-9]. This means we have a family that prepares their son for
hardship and difficulty during a time of national revival. They went cross grain to the culture of the day. It is likely the
preparation process included scripture reading, prayer and fasting, the knowledge of God, life experiences that trained
him in meekness, etc.

C.        Jeremiah’s prophecies are fulfilled and the book of Daniel opens with Daniel and some of the sons of nobility being
taken captive into Babylon by Nebuchadnezzar the new king. In the opening chapter we see Daniel and his three friends
purpose in their hearts not to defile themselves with the king’s delicacies (food). Where did they get that kind of courage?
The strengthening of God that had come through lifestyles prepared in prayer, fasting and study of the scriptures. In those
days, to eat with the king or from the king’s table meant you were agreeing with his governance and proclaiming a covenant
with his ideology. Their message was simple, ‘We may be captives of a foreign king, but we are subject to a higher King
who is God and Judge of the whole earth.’

D.        As the four captives set their hearts in prayer they are rewarded by God with a lifestyle that lasts throughout their
recorded lives in captivity [Daniel 1: 17, 21]. We still find Daniel fasting and praying in the latter chapters as a foundation
to the visions he received of end-times events. [Daniel 6: 10; 9: 2-3; 10: 2-3]  We see the beginnings of a prophetic spirit
develop in chapter 2 when the king’s decree to kill the wise men threatens their young lives. Prayer becomes the vehicle
for understanding the knowledge of God and what he is doing at that deadly hour. Daniel called on God for mercy and
was given understanding of the secret God put in the king’s heart.

Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, …He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who
have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells
    with Him.  Daniel 2: 20-22

E.        As we consider the visions of Daniel 7-12, we understand these critical truths.

1.        A lifestyle of prayer, fasting, and studying the word unlock the hidden secrets of the knowledge of God. This is a life
long pursuit of the knowledge of God. Daniel was well advanced in years when he received these visions. God wants a history
of love with us.

2.        God is longing to pour out a prophetic spirit in the context of prayer and fasting. God wants to take that which is of
his own Spirit and distribute it to those who seek him. It’s interesting to note that what Joel spoke of and what happened in
Acts 2 were both found in the context of corporate prayer and fasting.

“This is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: and it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will
pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see
visions, your old men shall dream dreams…” Acts 2: 17; Joel 2: 28

3.        The goal of developing a prophetic spirit is the knowledge of God and the testimony of Jesus.

I…do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus
Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the
eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are
the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power
toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power…Ephesians 1: 16-19

Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.  Revelation 19: 10

Surely the Lord God does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets. A lion has roared!
Who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken! Who can but prophesy? Amos 3:7

II.        DANIEL 7 – DANIEL, DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE?

A.        Overview of Daniel 7. Vision #1: Focus on the Throne of Fire and Progression of Beast Kingdoms. This chapter
shows a contrast of kingdoms, and their progression.

    1.        Daniel 7: 1 – Setting of the Vision
    2.        Daniel 7: 2-8 – Prophetic Revelation: The Four Winds, the Great Sea & Vision of the Four Great Beasts
    3.        Daniel 7: 9-10 – The Ancient of Days & His Throne of Fire
    4.        Daniel 7: 11-12 – Judgment on the Beasts
    5.        Daniel 7: 13-14 – Jesus – The Son of Man & The Coming Kingdom of God
    6.        Daniel 7: 15-28 – Prophetic Interpretation of the Vision & Daniel’s Troubled Heart

B.        Daniel 7 acts as a bridge from the historical content of the book to the visions of the apocalyptic content. A striking
literary difference we find as we make this turn at chapter 7 is the transition from 3rd person to 1st person language.
Daniel is recording what he’s seeing. We also have angels calling Daniel by name. 7: 1, 15, 28; 8: 1, 15, 27; 9: 2, 22;
10: 2, 7, 11-12; 12: 4-5, 9.

C.        J. F. Walvoord maintains: “As interpreted by conservative expositors, the vision of Daniel provides the most
comprehensive and detailed prophecy of future events to be found anywhere in the Old Testament.”

D.        Daniel in this chapter sees a progression of kingdoms similar to that of chapter 2. The perspective offered here is
that there may be truth to the idea that the image of chapter 2 with its glittering metals portrays the world’s kingdoms from
humanity’s viewpoint – impressive and great, whereas the beasts depict these earthly kingdoms from God’s perspective –
vicious and destructive.

E.        It is interesting to note that this the beginning of Daniel’s visions starts similar to John in the book of Revelation.
Here in Daniel’s first recorded vision we have a clear picture of the Ancient of Days and His throne of fire. In Revelation 4,
just before John is given the vision of God’s end-times scenario, he sees the throne of God. I believe we are to take from
this that God’s throne is at the center of the universe and the history of humanity flows from it.

“And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show
you things which must take place after this… I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One
sat on the throne. And He who sat there was like a jasper and sardius stone in appearance; and there was a
rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald.” Revelation 4: 1-3

F.        Daniel receives this first of two visions (7 & 8) during the reign of Belshazzar. Daniel 7 sometime in 553 B.C. and
chapter 8 in 551. Interesting to note is the events of Daniel 5, Belshazzar’s Party, happen 12 years after the vision of chapter 8.

G.        We see a progression in this vision. This progression begins with a broad focus of four beast kingdoms coming and
going on the stage of human history. Then the vision narrows its focus on the strength and vicious nature of the fourth
kingdom. The vision narrows further to the ten horns; and finally, Daniel sees the vision narrow specifically to the little
horn and his activities. We will see this pattern repeat itself in the visions of chapters 9, 10-12.

H.        Jesus treats the second half of Daniel as historic and literal.  In Matt. 24 Jesus calls Daniel a prophet and refers to
Dan. 9:27, 11:31, 12:11 as a historic event that will take place at the end of the age.  Jesus states that Daniel was seeing
future events and thus, called him a prophet.

But he who endures to the end shall be saved.  14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the
world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.  "Therefore when you see the 'abomination
of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand),
    Matthew 24:13-15

III.        SETTING THE STAGE – BELSHAZZAR’S FIRST YEAR – WINDS OF CHANGE

In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon, Daniel had a dream and visions of his head while on his bed…
Daniel spoke, saying, “ I saw in my vision by night, and behold the four winds of heaven were stirring up the
    Great Sea…” Daniel 7: 1-2

A.        Right away in Belshazzar’s first year God determines the brevity of his reign. His carousing and licentious spirit cut
his kingdom short. In 14 years he is able to destroy what his grandfather Nebuchadnezzar ruled for 50 years. Right away
God shows Daniel winds of change churning the sea of humanity.

B.        Here again is our second man in the book of Daniel who is found vulnerable to the God of heaven while lying on
his bed. King Nebuchadnezzar in chapter 2 and now Daniel in chapter 7. Interesting enough that both are seeing the
same events from different perspectives. What is God telling us by giving us the same events twice? He is trying to
underscore the certainty of this prophecy. Joseph told Pharaoh in Gen. 41 that the king had two dreams to teach one
truth because, ‘…The matter has been firmly decided by God, and God will do it soon” (Genesis 41: 32).

IV.        PROPHETIC REVELATION – FOUR BEASTS – 7: 3-8

“And four great beasts came up from the sea, each different from the other. The first was like a lion, and had
eagle’s wings. I watched till its wings were plucked off; and it was lifted up from the earth and made to stand
on two feet like a man, and a man’s heart was given to it. And suddenly another beast, a second, like a bear.
It was raised up on one side, and had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. And they said thus to it: ‘Arise,
devour much flesh! After this I looked , and there was another, like a leopard, which had on its back four
wings of a bird. The beast also had four heads, and dominion was given to it. After this I saw in the night
visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron teeth; it was
devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that
were before it, and it had ten horns. I was considering the horns, and there was another horn, a little one,
coming up among them, before whom three of the first horns were plucked out by the roots. And there, in
this horn were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words.” Daniel 7: 3-8

A.        Prophetic revelation has two components, the revelation and the interpretation. These two components can be
given at the same time or separated by time. Here in these five verses we have the revelation or what exactly Daniel saw
or better yet, what God wanted Daniel to see.

B.        Four beasts.

1.        Lion with eagles wings who stands up and is given the heart of a man –  Babylonian Empire.  Both the lion
(Jeremiah 4:7; 49:19; 50:17,44) and the eagle (Jeremiah 49:22; Lamentations 4:19; Ezekiel 17:3; Habakkuk 1:8) were
used to describe the Babylonian Empire.  The reference to the wings being plucked off, to being stood up on two feet like
a man, and to it being given the heart of a man matches the experience of Nebuchadnezzar in chapter 4.

The lion has come up from his thicket, And the destroyer of nations is on his way. He has gone forth from
his place To make your land desolate. Your cities will be laid waste, Without inhabitant
    Jeremiah 4:7

Behold, He shall come up and fly like the eagle, And spread His wings over Bozrah; The heart of the mighty
men of Edom in that day shall be Like the heart of a woman in birth pangs. Jeremiah 49:22

"Israel is like scattered sheep; The lions have driven him away. First the king of Assyria devoured him; Now
at last this Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has broken his bones." Jeremiah 50:17

Our pursuers were swifter than the eagles of the heavens. They pursued us on the mountains and lay in
wait for us in the wilderness. (Lamentations 4:19)

2.        Bear standing raised on one side with three ribs in his mouth that is commanded to arise and devour flesh – Medo-
Persian Empire.  The beast is raised on one side representing the greater strength of Persia and coincides with the two-
horned ram of Dan. 8 whose one horn was larger than the other.  The three ribs in its mouth represent the three major
kingdoms conquered during its rule – Lydia (546 B.C.), Babylon (539 B.C.), and Egypt (525 B.C.).  The bear, behind the
lion, was the second most dreaded predator in Ancient Palestine.  The bear was larger and more cumbersome than the
lion, yet had great power and strength.

3.        Leopard with four wings on its back like a bird and four heads who was given dominion – Greek Empire - Alexander
the Great.   The leopard is known for its quickness and it cunning.  “Alexander the Great invaded Asia Minor in 334 B.C.
and within ten short years (by the age of thirty-two) had conquered the entire Medo-Persian Empire to the borders of India.
According to legend, he then wept because there were no more lands to conquer.” Dominion speaks of the thoroughness of
the government and culture pervading through the ancient world.  Alexander did not simply conquer kingdoms militarily.
He won them over to the Greek language and way of life.  Hellenization impacted all of the ancient world.  After Alexander’s
death, the kingdom was divided into four kingdoms.

4.        Indescribable Beast who is dreadful, terrible, exceedingly strong, has huge iron teeth who devoured, broke in
pieces and trampled the residue with its feet – Roman Empire.  This kingdom is unlike the others.  No earthly beast can
describe its horrid nature.

a.        The Roman Empire devoured and trampled in that they were not concerned with developing the nations they
conquered. They plundered (devoured) the resources of nations to consume them upon their own covetous lusts and
build a greater army.

b.        “The Little Horn” – The whole vision actually begins with a progression of beastly kingdoms and culminates by focusing
on a character known as the ‘little horn.’ This little horn supplants three of ten other horns. This little horn has eyes like
the eyes of  a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words.

It was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns. 8 I was considering the horns,
and there was another horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the first horns were
plucked out by the roots. And there, in this horn, were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking
    pompous words. Daniel 7: 7-8

C.        Daniel sees this little horn as a part of a beastly empire that crushes all in its path. This little horn becomes the
focus of Daniel’s attention. He sees the pompous little horn brought before a heavenly court and the Ancient of Days
destroying the pompous horn by fire. So Daniel sees the little horn’s end but is disturbed because he sees the authority
on the little horn to crush and destroy, trampling all those around him.

“I, Daniel, was grieved in my spirit within my body, and the visions of my head troubled me.” Daniel 7: 15

D.        Daniel seeks greater understanding of what he is seeing especially with the fourth beast and the little horn. He
asks one of those who stood by watching with Daniel. The ‘watcher’, similar to those of chapter 4, tells Daniel the
interpretation of what he is seeing.

V.        PROPHETIC INTERPRETATION – 7: 17-27

‘Those great beasts, which are four, are four kings which arise out of the earth. But the saints of the Most High
shall receive the kingdom, and possess the kingdom forever, even forever, and ever. Then I wished to know
the truth about the fourth beast…and the ten horns that were on its head, and the other horn which came
up, before which three fell, namely, that horn which had eyes and a mouth which spoke pompous words,
whose appearance was greater than his fellows. I was watching; and the same horn was making war against
the saints and prevailing against them, until the Ancient of Days came, and a judgment was made in favor of
the saints of the Most High, and the time came for the saints to possess the kingdom.’ Daniel 7: 17-22

A.        The watcher tells Daniel that the beasts are four kings that will come from the earth. Here the man tells us that the
great sea we observe churning at the beginning of the chapter represents the sea of humanity.

B.        The man tells Daniel that the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom and possess the kingdom forever.
So Daniel is told that the kingdoms of the beasts will come and go but the saints will be rewarded with the kingdom for the
meek will inherit the earth (Mt. 5:5). Daniel seeks more depth because he sees something else and is disturbed by it.

C.        Daniel wishes to know the truth about the fourth beast, the ten horns, and the other horn. He sees the little horn
making war against the saints and prevailing until it was time for them to possess the kingdom. Daniel wants to know more
because he sees two disturbing things. He sees the saints being persecuted and he sees the deceptive means used by
the little horn to gain power. Daniel realizes that in the time of history being shown him there will be great persecution of
the saints and that the darkness of deception will cover the earth.

D.        Daniel asks for clarity regarding the persecution and deception and reveals to us the two-fold offense at the end of
the age that will face humanity.

VI.        TWO-FOLD OFFENSE – 7: 23-27

The fourth beast shall be a fourth kingdom on earth, which shall be different from all other kingdoms, and
shall devour the whole earth, trample it and break it in pieces. The ten horns are ten kings who shall arise
from this kingdom, and another shall rise after them; he shall be different from the first ones, and shall subdue
three kings. He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, shall persecute the saints of the Most High, and
shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand for a time and times and
half a time.  But the court shall be seated, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and destroy it
forever. Then the kingdom and dominion and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, shall
be given to the people, the saints of the Most High. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions
shall serve and obey Him. Daniel 7: 23-27

A.        This vision started with a progression of four kingdoms. Attention was drawn to the fourth kingdom, which was
different from all the rest. On this beast were ten horns that the man in the vision told him were ten kings. From these kings
came a little horn that supplanted three of the ten kings. This little horn draws Daniel’s attention because he sees the
saints given into the hand of the little horn (persecution) and the deception he (little horn) uses attempting to change times
and law.

B.        Two-fold offense at the end of the age. Daniel sees the ‘saints of the Most High’ handed over to the little horn. This
disturbs him to see the people God loves handed over to a vicious, evil tyrant. The question to be answered then is, how
can a loving, merciful God do/allow such an awful thing to happen to his people? We will face this question many times
during the final seven years of history before Jesus returns. Even now we face it. ‘How can God be loving, if he allows the
suffering of little children through hunger? How can God be loving, if he allows little 8, 9, 10 year old girls to be caged in
the sex trade of Bombay or New Delhi?  In light of this question, how would you help a Jew reconcile the holocaust?

C.        Daniel is deeply troubled by this allowance of persecution.  We see later in Daniel 12:7 that Daniel witnesses the
complete shattering of the saints by this ruler. Daniel asks the angel for greater understanding.  Revelation 13; 17:6,
12-14; 18:24; 19:1-3
Daniel 7:25-26 He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, Shall persecute the saints of the Most High, And
shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand For a time and times and half a time.
26 'But the court shall be seated,  NKJV

Daniel 11:33-34 And those of the people who understand shall instruct many; yet for many days they shall
fall by sword and flame, by captivity and plundering. NKJV

Daniel 12:7 Then I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he held up
his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever, that it shall be for a time,
times, and half a time; and when the power of the holy people has been completely shattered, all these
    things shall be finished. NKJV

Revelation 11:7-10 When they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will
make war against them, overcome them, and kill them. 8 And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the
great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. 9 Then those from
the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations will see their dead bodies three-and-a-half days, and not allow their
dead bodies to be put into graves. 10 And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them, make merry,
and send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.

Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her
offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.   NKJV

VII.        THE ANGEL RESPONDS

A.        The angel adds little knew information.  He clarifies that this beast will come forth.  A different kingdom will arise and it
shall devour the whole earth.  And a different ruler shall rise up from the midst of these ten kings within this beast kingdom.
He will subdue three kings.  He will be a military and political genius.  He will set himself up against the Most High and
persecute (literally, “wear out”) the saints.  He shall intend to change the times and laws.  He shall attempt to stop the
coming of the Son of Man.  He will attempt to turn the hearts of people to worship him.

B.        The angel confirms the coming of this man of lawlessness, this little horn which will be different from other kings.
His working will be conjunction with Satan, followed with signs and wonders. [Revelation 13:4-8; Revelation 13:11-17]

Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the
man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or
that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.  5 Do you not
remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6 And now you know what is restraining,
that he may be revealed in his own time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who
now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom
the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. 9 The
coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the
truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should
believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in
    unrighteousness. 2 Thessalonians 2:3-12

C.        We must take this seriously.  This man will work to deceive the hearts of believers and unbelievers.  Jesus begins
his Olivett Discourse with this warning, “Take heed that no one deceives you.”  Jesus tells us in that day not to let our
hearts be weighed down with carousing, and drunkenness (Luke 21:34).  Paul says, “Let no one deceive you by any means.”

D.        He does not answer the suffering question.  He only confirms that it is true, that it is limited in its time, and that God
will destroy the oppressor of His people and give them the kingdom.  The Aramaic word in v. 25, translated, ‘persecute’ literally
means “to wear out.” God does not fill out the picture of why for another 17 years in the vision of Daniel 10-12.

E.        We must prepare for these two areas: persecution (a “wearing out”) & deception.    [Matthew 24: 8-15, 21-25;
2 Thessalonians 2: 3-12; 2 Timothy 3:10-4:5; 1 Timothy 4:1-2; Revelation 13]

1.        Persecution

“Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they
will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also.” John 15: 20

“All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will
be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and
will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because  lawlessness
will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel
of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet standing in the holy
place,”  - whoever reads, let him understand… Matthew 24: 8-15

When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God
and for the testimony which they held. Rev. 6:9

2.        Deceptions of the Last Hour. [2 Peter 3: 17; Jude 4]

And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you.” Matthew 24:4

Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many
antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. (1 John 2:18)

These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you. (1 John 2:26)

VIII.        PREPARATION

A.        Knowing Beforehand

The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants -- things which must shortly take
    place. Revelation 1:1

For false Christ’s and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the
elect.  23 But take heed; see, I have told you all things beforehand. Mark 13:22-23

You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness,
being led away with the error of the wicked; 18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior
    Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 3:17-18

B.        Separate Yourselves from Darkness

Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot
    and blameless; 2 Peter 3:14-15

We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the
wicked one does not touch him. 19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of
the wicked one. 20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we
may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and
eternal life. 21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen. 1 John 5:18-21

But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from
the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, 14 to which
He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 Therefore, brethren,
stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle.
    2 Thessalonians 2:13-15

C.        Prayer

Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is.  34 It is like a man going to a far country,
who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper
to watch.  35 Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming -- in the evening,
at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning -- 36 lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping.
37 And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!" Mark 13:33-37

But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. 1 Peter 4:7-8

D.        Daniel kept the matter in his heart. It was to feed his life of intercession. As we read and study through Daniel 7 we
