The Corridor of Glory: Dynamic Convergence
I. CENTERPIECE OF GOD’S PURPOSE: BRING HEAVEN AND EARTH TOGETHER IN JESUS
Having made known to us the mystery (hidden plan) of His will…10 that...He might gather together in one
ALL things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth -- in Him. (Ephesians 1:9-10)
A. The centerpiece of God’s eternal purpose is for Jesus to come back to fully establish His Kingdom rule over all the
earth as He joins the heavenly and earthly realms together. Both heavenly and earthly dimensions must come together
to fully express God’s personality and purposes.
Till we all come ...to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ...(Ephesians 4:13)
B. The spirit realm and the material realm come together as the New Jerusalem descends in two stages.
1. Stage one of the descent of the New Jerusalem: partial yet substantial at the Second Coming
He (angel)...showed me….the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven...(Revelation 21:10)
2. Stage two of the descent of the New Jerusalem: fully and ultimately after the Millennium
I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth passed away...2 Then I...saw
the New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God.. (Revelation 21:1-2)
C. The first descent of the New Jerusalem is related to the timing of the Second Coming at the start of the Millennium.
The New Jerusalem comes above the earth. It is not on the earth but above it. There are at least five reasons that we
know that the New Jerusalem is distinct from the Millennial Jerusalem yet not resting on earth yet close to it.
1. Kings of the earth come to the New Jerusalem during the Millennium to bring their glory
The kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it. (Revelation 21:24)
2. The leaves for the healing of the nations
In the middle of its street...was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit
every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. (Revelation 22:2)
3. The angels guarding sinners from entry
She had...a high wall with….12 angels at the gates...22:14 Blessed are those who do His commandments,
that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. 15 Outside
are...sexually immoral and murderers...(Revelation 21:12, 22:14-15)
4. The New Jerusalem lights up the earth
The nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light (Revelation 21:24)
5. The size of the Millennial Jerusalem (Ezekiel 48) is approximately 10 square miles.
D. Outline of Revelation 21-22 and its relationship to the two descents of the New Jerusalem.
1. Revelation 21:1-8 describes the dynamic quality of spiritual life in the New Jerusalem. This is the second
descent of the city following chronologically after the events of Revelation 20.
2. Revelation 21:9-22:5 has dimensions of time and eternity! It is not either/or but it is both/and, with eternal
and temporal dimensions! This passages is parenthetical not chronological, which means that the events are
happening at the same time the Millennium is occurring. It is not all eternity or all time. Revelation 21:9-22 describes
the glory of the city. Revelation 21:23-22:5 focuses on how the Millennial kings interact with the New Jerusalem.
E. The saints reign on the Millennial earth (Matthew 19:28, Luke 22:29), yet we live with resurrected bodies in New
Jerusalem. Our residence is in the New Jerusalem, but our government takes place on the earth. Like Senators who live
in their home state yet have a government offices in Washington, DC
II. JESUS’ THRONE OF GLORY: 2 DIMENSIONS (EARTHLY AND HEAVENLY)
A. At Jesus’ Second Coming, He comes in glory and sets up His Throne of Glory to judge all nations.
When the Son of Man comes...He will sit on the Throne of His glory...(Matthew 25:31)
B. Jesus will establish His Throne of glory in Millennial Jerusalem to judge all earthly nations.
At that time Jerusalem shall be called The Throne of the LORD, and all the nations shall be gathered to it,
to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem. (Jeremiah 3:17)
C. Jesus’ Throne will be established in the Millennial Temple
Thus says the LORD..."Behold, the Man (Jesus) whose name is the BRANCH! from His place (New Jerusalem)
...He shall build the Temple of the LORD; 13...He shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule on His Throne;
so He shall be a priest (serving in the Temple) on His Throne.” (Zechariah 6:12-13)
D. Jesus’ Throne of Glory will be connected to the Holy of Holies in the Millennial Temple in Jerusalem.
The glory of the LORD came into the Temple (Millennial Temple)... 6 I heard Him (Jesus) speaking to me from
the Temple (Holy of Holies)...7 He said, "This is the place of My Throne and the place of the soles of My feet,
where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel forever.” (Ezekiel 43:4-7)
E. Jesus’ Throne is also established in the heavenly New Jerusalem. The government of heaven and of earth come
fully together as the heavenly Jerusalem and earthly Jerusalem are brought together.
The Throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it (New Jerusalem). (Revelation 22:3)
III. MOUNTAIN OF ZION: INCLUDES MILLENNIAL JERUSALEM & NEW JERUSALEM
He carried me away in the Spirit...and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven
from God, 11 having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as
crystal. 12 Also she had a great and high wall with twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates...16 The city
is laid out as a square; its length is as great as its breadth. He measured the city...: 12,000 furlongs
(approximately 1500 miles). Its length, breadth, and height are equal. 18 The construction of its wall was of
jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass. 21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls...and the street of
the city was pure gold, like transparent glass. (Revelation 21:10-21)
A. The New Jerusalem is approximately 1500 miles high. Compare this to outer space being 800 miles away, the highest
mountain on the earth (Mt. Everest) being only 5 miles above sea level and the ocean being 8 miles deep.
B. The Millennial Jerusalem is also on a mountain. Ezekiel describes the Millennial Jerusalem (Ezekiel 40:2; 17:22; 20:40)
as on God’s mountain, which is raised up as the highest of all the mountains on earth (Isaiah 2:2; Micah 4:1). This
description cannot fit the hills on which Jerusalem is currently built (only 2,500 feet above sea level).
In the visions of God He took me into the land of Israel and set me on a very high mountain; on it toward the
south was something like the structure of a city. (Ezekiel 40:2)
C. The Mountain of the Lord’s House points to the Corridor of Glory connecting the two Jerusalems.
The word that Isaiah...concerning Jerusalem. 2 In the latter days that THE MOUNTAIN of the LORD'S house
shall be established on the top of the mountains...and all nations shall flow to it. 3 Many people shall come
and say, "Come, and let us go up to THE MOUNTAIN of the LORD, to the House of the God of Jacob; He will
teach us His ways...(Isaiah 2:1-3)
I am the LORD...dwelling in Zion My holy mountain. Then Jerusalem shall be holy...(Joel 3:17)
IV. JERUSALEM LASTS FOREVER
Psalm 37:29; 78:68-69; 104:5; 105:10-11; 125:1-2;.1 Kings 8:13; 9:1-3; 2 Kings 21:7; 1 Chronicles 15:2; 23:25; 28:8;
2 Chronicles 7:16; 20:7; 30:8; 33:4, 7; Isaiah 60:20-21; Ezekiel 37:25.
Then they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Jacob My servant, where your fathers dwelt; and they
shall dwell there, they, their children, and their children's children, forever; and My servant David shall be
their prince forever. 26 Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them, and it shall be an everlasting
covenant with them; I will establish them and multiply them, and I will set My sanctuary in their midst
forevermore. 27 My tabernacle also shall be with them; indeed I will be their God, and they shall be My
people. 28 The nations also will know that I, the LORD, sanctify Israel, when My sanctuary is in their midst
forevermore." (Ezekiel 37:25-28)
David said, "The LORD...has given rest to His people that they may dwell in Jerusalem forever"
(1 Chronicles 23:25)
V. THE CORRIDOR OF GLORY: DYNAMIC CONVERGENCE
To converge means to come together from different directions to an intersecting point to achieve union
A. The Premise: the “Corridor of Glory” is established on the concept that the Throne of God is clearly in the Millennial
Jerusalem’s Temple (in the Holy of Holies) and clearly in New Jerusalem and that these two dimensions are clearly one great
reality. In other words, Jesus’ Throne is clearly on earth and clearly in Heaven and clearly one throne. The joining of the
two Jerusalems establishes the “Corridor of Glory” in which several dimensions of God’s purpose come into a
dynamic convergence.
B. The New Jerusalem descends to the Millennial earth. Where does it go? To Jesus’ place of government, which is
the Millennial Temple in Jerusalem. Does Jesus have one Throne or two? The answer is YES. I suggest Jesus’ Throne
of glory is a vast glorious governmental complex with a “far north end” of His Throne in the New Jerusalem and a “far
south end” on the Millennial Jerusalem with a “Corridor of Glory” between the two.
C. The term convergence points to the paradox of both dimensions (heavenly and earthly), each having distinction,
yet with a significant merging or overlapping as a unified reality.
D. Scripture describes the convergence of the two realms, including both the heavenly and Millennial (Jerusalem,
Holy of Holies, Holy Mountain, Garden of Eden, River of Life, Tree of Life).
E. The New Jerusalem is a 1500 mile cube, or triangle (possibly both dimensions with mountain as the predominate
structure). The New Jerusalem functions as the ultimate Holy of Holies and Garden of Eden. Whereas the Millennial
Jerusalem expresses both, yet in a lesser measure.
F. What defines the New Jerusalem as the Holy of Holies is the manifest Presence of God throughout the entire City.
God’s Presence is everywhere, (even in hell), but His manifest Presence is not. His Presence is everywhere, but His
immediate manifest Presence is where it is tangibly experienced or distinctly felt or discerned by His creation.
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. (Psalm 139:8)
G. In the OT, His continual immediate manifest Presence was on earth only in one place, in the Holy of Holies in the
Tabernacle/Temple, then occasionally through God’s anointing on a prophet or king. From a global point of view, this was
only one small “strand of His manifest glory.”
H. The Holy of Holies is the place God’s manifest Presence is discernable to all present. The entire New Jerusalem
(Eternal City) has waves of glory flowing through it continually with different manifestations including the beauty of
supernatural diamond-like light.
He...showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, 11 having the glory
of God. Her light was like….like a jasper stone (diamond), clear as crystal. (Revelation 21:10-11)
I. This is what makes it the Holy of Holies. The Holy of Holies in the Millennial temple will have a full expression of the
glory that is normative through the heavenly New Jerusalem. This is unique beyond measure because the Holy of Holies in
the Jerusalem Temple is on the earth that still has sin in it. This is gloriously dangerous to bring any dimension of this
sin-tainted earth into contact with transcendent purity. (Exodus 33:20-23; 19:21; 20:19; Genesis 32:30; Judges 13:12-22;
Revelation 22:4)
He said, "You (Moses) cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live." (Exodus 33:20)
J. The Temple and Isaiah shook when only Jesus’ robe came into the Temple. When Jesus is enthroned in the Millennial
Temple (as Ezekiel prophesied), then He all will tremble.
I saw the Lord sitting on a Throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple...4 The posts
of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke. 5 So I said:
"Woe is me, for I am undone!...For my eyes have seen the King." (Isaiah 6:1-5)
When they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken (Acts 4:31)
He (Jesus) said to me, "Son of man, this (Millennial Jerusalem’s Temple) is the place of My Throne ...where I
will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel forever.” (Ezekiel 43:7)
K. The Millennial Holy of Holies receives the full manifestation of God’s glory, whereas the Millennial earth experiences
a measure of it. The Millennial earth is filled with revelation, but not the full manifest glory. The Millennial Jerusalem Holy
of Holies will have the fullness of the Acts 2 waves and winds of glory breaking in. That is why it is called the Holy of Holies.
L. The whole earth has the knowledge of God in terms of His ways being taught. The spirit of revelation is in the greatest
measure globally than any at time in history. However, the fullness of the manifest glory will exist in the New Jerusalem on the
New Earth.
For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
(Habakkuk 2:14)
M. The New Earth will be filled with the full manifest glory because sin will be completely removed.
Truly, as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD (Numbers 14:21)
VI. GARDEN OF EDEN WITH THIS RIVER OF LIFE AND TREE OF LIFE
He showed me a pure River of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the Throne of God and of the
Lamb. 2 In the middle of its street, and on either side of the River, was the tree of life, which bore 12 fruits,
each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 And
there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall
serve Him. (Revelation 22:1-3)
The LORD God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. and now, lest he put
out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever"-- (Genesis 3:22)
Then he (angel) brought me back to the door of the (Millennial) temple; and there was water, flowing from
under the threshold of the temple toward the east, for the front of the temple faced east; the water was
flowing from under the right side of the temple, south of the altar. 2... there was water, running out on the
right side. 4...the water came up to my knees. Again he measured...the water came up to my waist. 5 Again
he measured...it was a river that I could not cross; for the water was too deep...7 along the bank of the river,
were very many trees on one side and the other. 8 Then he (angel) said to me: "This water flows toward the
eastern region, goes down into the valley, and enters the sea (Dead Sea). When it reaches the sea, its waters
are healed. 9 And it shall be that every living thing that moves, wherever the rivers go, will live. There will
be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters go there; for they will be healed, and everything will
live wherever the river goes....12 Along the bank of the river, on this side and that, will grow all kinds of trees
used for food; their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They will bear fruit every month,
because their water flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for medicine."
(Ezekiel 47:1-12)
So they will say, “This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden; and the wasted, desolate,
and ruined cities are now fortified and inhabited.” (Ezekiel 36:35)
“I will make them and the places all around My hill a blessing...27 Then the trees of the field shall yield their
fruit....29 I will raise up for them a garden of renown..." (Ezekiel 34:26–29)
A. The garden of Eden (Ezekiel 34:26-29; 36:8-11, 30-35; 47:6-12; Isaiah 35:1-8; Genesis 3:22; Malachi 4:2;
Revelation 22:1-3); Ezekiel 34:26–29; 36:8-11, 30-35; 47:6-12; Genesis 3:22, Revelation 22:1-3.
B. The River of Life flows through the Millennial Temple with the qualities (possibly lesser measure) of the River of
Life flowing from the New Jerusalem above unto the healing of the Millennial nations. The River of Life and the Tree of Life
are deeply connected as two manifestations of one reality. The River is the life source for the Tree, which in turn is a life
source to people who eat the fruit. The Water of Life is a direct life source to all who drink it.
C. The dynamic healing properties of this fruit is because of the River from the sanctuary (v12). The Dead Sea (v.8)
has a very high amount of minerals in it (25% instead of 5% for sea water), thus making it impossible for fish to live in it.
The River has supernatural properties that heal the waters of the Dead Sea (47:9–10). As this River flows through the
nation from Jerusalem, it causes trees to grow that bear fruit that possess supernatural properties to heal and restore
(v. 12). The water flows into and transforms desert regions that have been historically desolate (Isa. 35:1-8). This River
is a prophetic picture of salvation with the River in our human spirit, as well as being a literal river fulfilling the details of
Ezekiel 47:1-12. This River is one of the key reasons for the transformation of the vegetation of the earth (Romans 8:19-23;
Isaiah 11; 35).
D. How long does this river reach to revitalize the desert regions?
The desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose; 2 It shall blossom abundantly...shall see the glory of the
LORD, the excellency of our God....6 Then the lame shall leap like a deer...for waters shall burst forth in
the wilderness, and streams in the desert. (Isaiah 35:1-6)
E. The New Jerusalem River heals the nations on the earth by going through the Ezekiel 47 Millennial Temple through
this dynamic convergence. Ezekiel 47 is a remarkable river. The fact that it is a river instead of a pond or fountain means
it flows through many cities and nations, connecting them with the same reality. (The Nile is the longest river in the world
at just over 4,000 miles, bringing the same water from eastern Africa to the Mediterranean Sea in northern Egypt). In this
River, the same reality in the New Jerusalem is flowing through the earth. It originates from the Throne in New Jerusalem
flowing through the “Corridor of Glory” then coming forth from Jesus’ Throne in the Holy of Holies in the Millennial
Jerusalem. The mysterious dimension of the dynamic convergence is seen here.
F. The River of Life was seen prophetically in the Rock that Moses stuck in the wilderness is a clear parallel of this as
a prophetic picture of a River that does not have an earthly origin. Approximately 3 million people drinking out of this
Rock-river on a daily basis as well as all the livestock. How long was the river that flowed from the Rock into provide for
Israel on a daily basis? The Rock was a prophetic token of the Millennial Throne.
G. Moses was to strike the Rock on the first occasion (Exodus 17:5-6) from then on he was only to speak to it but he
struck it again (Numbers 20:7-11). Paul interpreted why it was so serious to strike the Rock twice.
All drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that
Rock was Christ. (1 Corinthians 10:4)
VII. THE “CORRIDOR OF GLORY” INCLUDES DIVINE CLOUD, SMOKE AND SHINING FIRE
The LORD will create above every dwelling place of Mount Zion, and above her assemblies, a cloud and
smoke by day and the shining of a flaming fire by night. Over all the glory will be a covering. (Isaiah 4:5)
A. The New Jerusalem is what is ultimately over Mt. Zion. Three distinct dimensions of the glory over the Millennial
Jerusalem are highlighted by Isaiah as glory like a cloud, smoke and fire. I think of this “Corridor” as being filled with the
brightness of God’s weighty, tangible Presence connecting the Millennial Jerusalem and heavenly Jerusalem as an
essential part of Jesus’ one Throne. The Scripture has much to say about clouds, smoke and fire related to God’s glory.
For I will be a wall of fire all around her, and I will be the glory in her midst. (Zechariah 2:5)
The smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God...(Revelation 8:4)
The temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power...(Revelation 15:8)
B. The heavenly temple is replaced by the Millennial Temple, connected to the New Jerusalem that descends from
heaven. The New Jerusalem has no distinct temple like heaven currently does. The smoke in the heavenly temple will be
manifest in relationship to Jerusalem’s Millennial Temple. The glory-smoke was manifest when Solomon dedicated the
temple. Zechariah prophesied that fire would surround Millennial Jerusalem. I think of this wall of fire as both vertical
(cylinder) and horizontal (circular) as both above the Jerusalem Temple and around the City.
“For I...will be a wall of fire all around her (Jerusalem), and I will be the glory in her midst....10 for behold,
I am coming and I will dwell in your midst," says the LORD. (Zechariah 2:5, 10)
C. The “Corridor of Glory” has a travel dimension to it, as does Jesus’ Chariot-Throne (Ezekiel 1). Jesus is described as
traveling on glory-clouds and in the glory-smoke at key times in history. He came and went in context to smoke and clouds
in the Old Testament. Jesus comes back on clouds in the midst of flaming fire. Elijah traveled in the chariot of fire.
A chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire...Elijah went up by a whirlwind. (2 Kings 2:11)
Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. (Luke 21:27)
Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven. (Matthew 26:64)
While they watched, He (Jesus) was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. (Acts 1:9)
They (Two Witnesses) heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here." They ascended to
heaven in a cloud, and their enemies saw them. (Revelation 11:12)
We...shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.. (1 Thessalonians 4:17)
D. Ezekiel 1 has these same dimensions in Jesus’ means of travel and the unfolding of His purpose.
Then I looked, and behold, a whirlwind was coming out of the north, a great cloud with raging fire engulfing
itself; and brightness was all around it and radiating out...of the midst of the fire. 5 From within it came...four
living creatures...15 behold, a wheel (of Jesus’ Chariot-Throne) was on the earth beside each living creature...
16 The...wheels and their workings was like the color of beryl (gold topaz)...18 As for their rims, they were so
high they were awesome...19 When the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them; and when the
living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up. 20 Wherever the Spirit wanted to go,
they went, because there the Spirit went; and the wheels were lifted together with them...21 When those
went, these went...22 The likeness of the firmament above the heads of the living creatures was like the
color of an awesome crystal, stretched out over their heads. 24 When they went, I heard the noise of their
wings, like the noise of many waters, like the voice of the Almighty, a tumult like the noise of an army...
26 And above the firmament over their heads was...a Throne, in appearance like a sapphire stone; on the
likeness of the throne was a likeness with the appearance of a Man high above it. (Ezekiel 1:4-26)
E. In the glory-smoke and the glory-cloud is one of Jesus’ chosen means of travels and talking face to face. The
smoke, cloud and fire are over Mt. Zion is reasonably includes the same reasons that is Scripture describes them. One of
God’s means of travels and encounters His people. The wall of literal fire is part of the manifestation of God’s glory in the
midst of Jerusalem. This is one dimension of the “Corridor of Glory”
Then the cloud covered the tabernacle...and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. 35 Moses was not
able to enter the tabernacle...because the cloud rested above it, and the glory of the LORD filled the
tabernacle. 38 For the cloud of the LORD was above the tabernacle by day, and fire was over it by night,
in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys. (Exodus 40:34-38)
The cloud covered the tabernacle...it was above the tabernacle like the appearance of fire. 16 So it was
always: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night. (Numbers 9:15-16)
