The Battle of Jerusalem: A Prophetic Mandate for the Church

I.        THE CALL TO THE GENTILES TO ENGAGE IN THE BATTLE OF JERUSALEM

A.        The Battle of Jerusalem is the most significant battlefront in the spirit today. This battle culminates with the Second
Coming of Jesus as King of the earth. Gentile believers have a significant role in that battle. Therefore, the Holy Spirit is
calling Gentile believers to engage in this battle as a significant priority.

B.        One of our most important weapons is to war in intercession before the Lord and by prophetic proclamation to
Israel and the nations.

"Comfort, yes, comfort My people!" Says your God. 2 "Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, that
her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned..." (Isaiah 40:1-2)

C.        We must shout it, declare it, decree it and sing it so that all the nations of the earth hear it as part of the witness of
the gospel of the Kingdom (Matthew 24:14).

For thus says the LORD: "Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations; Proclaim,
give praise, and say, 'O LORD, save Your people, the remnant of Israel!' 8 Behold, I will bring them from the
north country, and gather them from the ends of the earth...a great throng shall return there. 9...for I am a
Father to Israel...10 "Hear the word of the LORD, O nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, 'He
who scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him as a shepherd does his flock.' (Jeremiah 31:7-10)

D.        We declare this as an act of spiritual warfare to shift things in the spirit realm and to show love to Israel. The result will
be increased understanding in the Church at large and greater revelation, authority and boldness in those who faithfully
declare this Divine decree.

E.        The most comprehensive detailed presentation for God’s decree over Israel is Isaiah 40. This passage describes
John the Baptist’s forerunner ministry as he prepared the way of the Lord (Isaiah 40:3. Luke 3). Preparing Israel and the
nations in this way is foundational to forerunners today.

II.        LAYING A FOUNDATION TO UNDERSTAND THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THIS BATTLE

A.        The centerpiece of God’s purpose: bring heaven and earth together in Jesus

Having made known to us the mystery (hidden plan) of His will…10 that...He might gather together in one
ALL things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth--in Him. (Ephesians 1:9-10)

Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. (Matthew. 6:10)

B.        The centerpiece of God’s eternal purpose is for Jesus to come back to fully establish His Kingdom rule over all the
earth as He joins the heavenly and earthly realms together. God’s purpose has always been for God and His people to
live together in this way. This is the interpretive key to understanding the End-Times.

III.        GOD’S FULLNESS ONLY OCCURS WHEN HEAVEN AND EARTH COME TOGETHER

All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. (Matthew 28:18)

A.        Heaven: supernatural spirit realm as the place of God’s manifest power and presence. This is the place of God’s
Throne and the angels as well as the supernatural dimensions of eternal life for believers.

B.
Earth: material physical realm as the place where human emotions and physical sensation are experienced to the
highest. The materiality of the Millennial earth and then the New Earth will consist of concrete reality. The earthly realm
relationship with the heavenly realm
requires a resurrected body.

C.        Jesus will bring the heavenly supernatural realm together with the earthly material realm. Both realms must come
together for the fullness of God’s personality and plans to be manifest among people on earth (Rev. 21:3). This will lead
to blessing all the nations of the earth.

I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth
    shall be blessed." (Genesis 12:3)

IV.        FOUR ASPECTS OF JESUS’ KINGDOM NECESSARY FOR THE FULLNESS OF GOD

A.        Heaven (supernatural realm) – Jesus’ divine Throne as the Son of God is in the New Jerusalem.

B.
Garden of Eden (material paradise of pleasure) – includes the Tree of Life and the River of Life restored along with
supernatural blessing on the agriculture, atmosphere and animal life, etc.

C.
Earthly Kingdom: worldwide government (Throne of David) – Jesus as King of kings of all the earth. Jesus’
theocratic government will include many levels of infrastructure for every area of the society for all the earth. It is the
revelation of Jesus as the human King over the human kingdom on a material earth.
Jesus comes back as King of
kings
over the whole earth (Revelation 19:16; Isaiah 32:1; 33:17, Daniel 2:44; Micah 5:2-5,15; Zephaniah 3:9-10, 18-19;
Zechariah 9:10-15; 14:9, 16-17), emphasizing his political authority. Jesus is the son of David (Luke 1:32-33; Matthew 1:1;
Isaiah 9:7) or the root of David (Isaiah 11:1, 10; Revelation 5:5; 22:16) emphasizing His physical Jewish lineage to
King David.

D.
Holy of Holies (Temple of God) – Jesus is a Jewish High Priest who officiates in the Millennial Temple
(Zechariah 6:12-13; Ezekiel 43:7). The Temple is the place prayer and worship.
This House of Prayer functions as
the governmental center of the universe.
Imagine the Presidential Palace or Oval Office being inside the Prayer
Room. Governmental decrees will go forth from the Millennial House of Prayer (Temple) that will be foundational in the
governments of the earth.
The Church (High Priest in the Temple) and State (King on a Throne) become one –Jesus’
leadership will join together the offices of king and priest. He will bring peace or full integration of the two offices.

V.        JESUS RULES ON HIS THRONE OF GLORY

A.        All the nations of the earth will come before Jesus’ earthly Throne of glory.

When the Son of Man comes in His glory...then He will sit on the Throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be
    gathered before Him...(Matthew 25:31-32)

Assuredly...in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the Throne of His glory, you who have followed Me
will also sit on 12 thrones, judging the 12 tribes of Israel. (Matthew 19:28)

B.        Jesus will establish His earthly Throne of glory in Jerusalem.

At that time Jerusalem shall be called The Throne of the LORD, and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to
the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem. (Jeremiah 3:17)

C.        Jesus’ Throne of Glory will be in the Millennial Temple in Jerusalem.

Thus says the LORD..."Behold, the Man (Jesus) whose name is the BRANCH! From His place...He shall build
    the Temple of the LORD; 13 Yes, He shall build the Temple of the LORD. He shall...sit and rule on His Throne;
so He shall be a priest (serving in the Temple) on His Throne, and the counsel of peace shall be between them
    both. (Zechariah 6:12-13)

For My House (Temple) shall be called a House of prayer for all nations. (Isaiah 56:7)

He (Jesus) said to them, "It is written, 'My house (Temple) shall be called a House of prayer,' but you have made
it a 'den of thieves.'" (Matthew 21:13)

I heard Him (Jesus) speaking to me from the Temple...7 He said to me, "Son of man, this is the place of My
Throne...where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel forever. (Ezekiel 43:6-7)

VI.        THE NEW JERUSALEM DESCENDS TO THE EARTH: DYNAMIC CONVERGENCE

Showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God (Rev. 21:10)

I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God...(Rev. 21:2)

I will write on him...the name of...the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven...(Revelation 3:12)

A.        Jesus’ heavenly Throne is in the New Jerusalem that descends to the Millennial Jerusalem on earth with a dynamic
convergence creating a
“Corridor of Glory” between the two Jerusalems.

The Throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it (New Jerusalem). (Revelation 22:3)

B.        Jesus is King of the two Jerusalems. He brings the fullness of heaven and earth together as the New Jerusalem
descends to the Millennial earth.

C.        Jesus rules in heaven as the Son of God (New Jerusalem) and He rules on the earth as the Son of David (earthly
Jerusalem).
He is the only one with authority to bring both realms together (Matthew 28:18). The government of heaven
and of earth come fully together at the Second Coming
. In other words, the two Jerusalems come together under one
Man as the “resurrection of the earth occurs” (Romans 8:17-23; 11:15; Isaiah 11:6-9; 35;1-8; 65:17-25).

Creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of
God. (Romans 8:21)

D.        The connecting point of earth and heaven is humanity. The point that God chose for heaven and earth to come
together is humanity in His image and filled with His Spirit.

E.        There will be an explosion of God’s glory, when the government of heaven is joined together with government of the
earth. This will usher in God’s fullness on the earth and result in Satan being cast into prison.

F.        There are at least
five reasons that we know that the New Jerusalem is distinct from the Millennial Jerusalem, and
is not resting on the earth, yet close to it. First, the Kings of the earth come into the New Jerusalem during the Millennium
to bring their glory (Revelation 21:24). Second, the leaves are for the healing of the nations (Revelation 22:2). Third, the
angels guard sinners from entry (Revelation 21:12, 22:14-15; Genesis 3:22-24). Fourth, the New Jerusalem lights up the
saved nations on the Millennial earth and not the unsaved ones (Revelation 21:24; 20:7-9). Fifth, the size of the Millennial
Jerusalem is approximately 10 square miles (4,500 rods x 4,500 rods) (Ezekiel 48:30-35; 45:6; 48:15-19) whereas, the
New Jerusalem is 1500 miles.

The  nations (Millennial nations) of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth
bring their glory and honor into it (New Jerusalem). (Revelation 21:24)

On either side of the River, was the Tree of Life, which bore 12 fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every
month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. (Revelation 22:2)

VII.        SATAN WILL BE THROWN INTO PRISON WHEN JERUSALEM IS UNDER JESUS’ RULE

I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 He laid hold of...Satan, and bound him for a 1,000 years; 3 and he cast him into the bottomless pit (prison)...
so that he should deceive the nations no more till the 1,000 years were finished. But after these things he
must be released for a little while. (Revelation 20:1-3)

A.        The Father could easily cast Satan into prison. However, the Father has chosen to do it through a Man who brings
all the OT covenants together in full obedience and thus brings together the governments of heaven and earth (based in
Jerusalem). God determined to defeat Satan through a Man.
Just as the First Adam lost his place of authority and
dominion to Satan (Luke 4:6), so the Last Adam
won that authority back and will use it at the Second Coming to
sentence Satan to prison
. Jesus will face Satan again at the Second Coming, as a Man who overcame him in the
wilderness temptation and on the cross (Colossians 2:14-15) and thus earned the authority as a son of Abraham and the
Son of David, to sentence him to prison.

B.        Jesus will reverse the situation that occurred in the Garden of Eden and in the wilderness (Matthew 4) when Satan
offered Jesus all the kingdoms of the earth. Jesus refused them, choosing rather to receive them after He embraced
obedience to His Father. He went to the cross, and then received the nations as the reward for His suffering and
obedience.

C.        The only way that Satan will be thrown into prison is by a Man, 100% obedient to the Father’s will, 100% submitted to
the Father’s authority and who fulfills all the requirements of the Covenant (Abrahamic, Sinai, etc.), thus having authority
to bring together the government of these two realms on the earth. This will result in releasing the glory of God on earth
and removing demonic presence from the earth.

D.        When Jerusalem is under the government of a righteous Man who lives 100% under the Father’s authority, or in
other words, when the Son of David governs Jerusalem under the Father’s authority, then Satan goes to prison without
any probation. This enrages Satan.

E.        Satan is focused on avoiding this prison sentence that later leads him to being sentenced into the Lake of Fire
(Revelation 20:10).  His primary agenda is not to keep people out of heaven, but to stay out of prison. Satan is focused on
avoiding his prison sentence.

F.        Satan hates the harvest, because he hates humans but especially, he hates the harvest when it directs the new
converts to be engaged in the Battle of Jerusalem. Satan’s main rage is not against humans (that is second on his evil
agenda), but on staying out of prison.

G.        Satan is seeking to blow up Jerusalem with terrorism not mega- ministries. He is not threatened by many growing
“successful” ministries, because they are usually disconnected in the Battle of Jerusalem that pertains to his future prison
sentence. Many ministries today are focused on promoting the American dream with its culture of pleasure and comfort.
They do not proclaim the
“gospel of the Kingdom” (Matthew 24:14) as a King coming to replace the evil governments of
earth in context to great conflict in the process (Great Tribulation, martyrdom, etc.).

VIII.        JERUSALEM IS THE VORTEX OF GOD’S END-TIME DRAMA

For I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, 'Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!'
    (Matthew 23:39)

A.        Jesus’ prophesied and thus promised that He would not come back to Jerusalem until the governmental leaders of
Israel received Him as their Messianic King of their own free will. Satan seeks to
exploit this “prophetic loophole” by
assuring that the leaders of Jerusalem will not receive Jesus as their King. Satan wants to demonstrate that this prophetic
word of Jesus is not faithful and true but rather is false. Thus, Jesus could not return to Jerusalem in “integrity and truth.”
Satan’s strategy is to kill the entire Jewish race or to see that they are so offended at Jesus that they will never receive
Him as their King.

B.
Jesus already won the war in the Spirit on the Cross. However, Satan will not be cast into prison until after the battle
for Jerusalem is decisively won and under the governmental leadership of the Son of David, in real time and space in the
political arena.

C.        Jesus will not take Jerusalem from the sons of Abraham (Jewish leaders of Israel) by force of arms, but only on
covenantal terms of invitation and only after all the nations understand it. The gospel of the Kingdom is a covenantal
reality.

And “this” gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then
the end will come. (Matthew 24:14)

D.        When Satan is cast to the earth at the beginning of the Tribulation, he will persecute Israel with great rage even
seeking to exterminate the entire nation so they can not receive Jesus as King.

War broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon (Satan); and the dragon and his
angels fought, 8 but they did not prevail...9 so the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the
Devil and Satan...he was cast to the earth...12 Woe to the inhabitants of the earth….for the devil has come
down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time." 13 Now when the dragon saw
that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman (remnant of Israel) who gave birth to the male
Child (Jesus)... 15 The serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might
cause her to be carried away by the flood. (Revelation 12:7-15)

E.        The Armageddon conflict is over Jerusalem. The Armageddon campaign continues for 3½ years and ends with the
battle of Jerusalem as its decisive battle. Armageddon is a geographic area in the valley of Megiddo, in the northern part
of Israel, and it functions as the staging area where kings gather together for a military build up.

F.        Demonic spirits will draw all the nations to the Battle of Armageddon to destroy Jerusalem.

I saw 3 unclean spirits...coming out of the mouth of the dragon (Satan)...the beast (Antichrist)...and the false
prophet. 14 For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the
whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. (Revelation 16:13-14)

G.        The Lord will draw all the nations to the Battle of Armageddon to destroy them.

I (Lord) will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem; the city shall be taken, the houses rifled, and
the women ravished. Half of the city shall go into captivity, but the remnant of the people shall not be cut off
from the city. 3 Then the LORD will go forth and fight against those nations... (Zechariah 14:2-3)

    I (Lord) will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat (area of Jerusalem);
and I will enter into judgment with them there...14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the
day of the LORD is near ...16 The LORD also will roar from Zion (Jerusalem), and utter His voice from
    Jerusalem...(Joel 3:2, 12-16)

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May they prosper who love you. (Psalm 122:6)
