THE EMERGING OF THE ANTICHRIST
I. NOT UNTIL THE GREAT FALLING AWAY AND THE ANTICHRIST IS REVEALED
1 Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask
you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as
though the day of Christ[ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come
unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin[ is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes
and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple
of God, showing himself that he is God. 5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you
these things? 2 Thessalonians 2:1-5
A. At center stage of the coming global crisis will be a demonized world leader called the Antichrist (1 John 2:18) who
develops and then rules over a worldwide system including government, finances and religion. There is much information
on this in the scripture.
B. The Anti Christ will unify 10 nations into the largest empire the world has ever seen. No world leader ever had the
resources of 10 unified nations to carry out his schemes. The Anti Christ will have the majority of the globes human,
natural resources, economic, and technological resources etc.
C. God's purpose for Tribulation – to use the least severe means to produce the greatest number of people at the
deepest level of love without violating anyone’s free will. I believe that this is one of the main reasons that the revelation of
Christ as the Lamb is center stage in the book of Revelation as He administrates the judgments of God on the earth.
D. The Apostle John twice repeated (Revelation 9:15, 18) for emphasis that 1/3 of the human race will be killed. This
is in addition to the ¼ who died in the Fourth Seal (Revelation 6:8). It has been projected that by the year 2025 AD the
population of the earth will be over 8 billion people. Using the hypothetical number of 8 billion, one-fourth (2 billion people)
dying in the fourth Seal judgments would leave 6 billion people still alive. The Sixth Trumpet points to 1/3 of this 6 billion
dying leaving 4 billion people alive. The death toll of these two judgments would equal 4 billion or 50% of the original
number of over 8 billion living on earth before the Great Tribulation (these are of course hypothetical numbers). The
death toll of World War II in a six-year period (1939-45) was nearly 50 million people. The death toll of the two judgments
(Fourth Seal and Sixth Seal) will be nearly 100 times the total of World War II yet in half the time. If 4 billion people die in
the last 3 1/2 years (1260 days) then 3.17 million would die on an average every day. Thus, more would die per month
than all of WWII.
II. THE RESOURCES OF THE ANTI-CHRIST - REVELATION 13:1-2
Then I stood on the sand of the sea. And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten
horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name. Now the beast which I saw was
like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. “…The dragon
(Satan) gave him (Antichrist) his power, his throne, and great authority.” Revelation 13:1-2
A. The Anti-Christ will have natural resources
1. There will be a stirring among the nations (sea) that will result in the emergence of the most evil global leader
in history known as the Anti-Christ.
2. This global leader will have at his disposal the union of 10 sovereign nations that will hand over their
sovereignty to him. This transfer of authority will give the Anti-Christ access, to finances, military, human resources,
religious affiliations, technology, etc in order to carry his purpose to unite the earth under the leadership of Satan
and to worship him.
B. The Anti-Christ will have full access to supernatural resources of the realm of darkness. He will have:
1. Satan’s power – anointing and ability
2. Satan’s throne – administration over government and hierarchy of darkness
3. Satan’s authority – approval and right to carry out the schemes of Satan. He will have the right to carry out
and enforce.
III. THE COUNTERFEIT AND CATALYTIC EVENT – REVELATION 13:3
“And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all
the world marveled and followed the beast.” Revelation 13:3
A. The Anti-Christ will incur some form of a mortal head wound. John prophesies that this mortal head wound would be
cured. This miracle would result in the earth marveling at him as he leads the nations to worship the dragon.
B. The Anti-Christ will operate with lying signs and wonders to attest to his purpose, program and message.
IV. THE ULTIMATE PURPOSE OF THE ANTI-CHRIST – REVELATION 13:4
“So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying,
“Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” Revelation 13:4
A. The centerpiece of God’s eternal purpose is for Jesus to come back to fully establish His Kingdom rule over all the
earth as He joins the heavenly and earthly realms together. God’s purpose has always been for God and His people to
live together in this way. This is the interpretive key to understanding the End-Times. Without this foundational revelation,
confusion is inevitable when studying the End-Times.
“… having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in
Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in
Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him.” Ephesians 1:9-10
“Then the LORD said: “I have pardoned, according to your word; but truly, as I live, all the earth shall be
filled with the glory of the LORD …” Numbers 14:20-21
B. I believe that much of the things that Satan wants to release on the earth are mirror opposites of the plan of God.
Deep moral and spiritual darkness will fill the earth. There will be a profound expression of the realm of darkness on the
earth at the end of the age as transgression and iniquity reach their maturity on the earth.
C. The ultimate goal of the Anti-Christ will be to fill the earth with darkness and lead a global satanic worship movement.
“But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should
not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk. And they
did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.” Revelation 9:20-21
V. THE STRATEGY OF THE ANTI- CHRIST – REVELATION 13:5-8
“And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue
for forty-two months. Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His
tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to
overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. All who dwell on the
earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the
foundation of the world.” Revelation 13:5-8
A. The Anti-Christ will seek to accomplish his purpose by filling the earth with accusations against the knowledge of
God and by persecuting the church and seeking the cessation of the nation of Israel.
B. The 1st part of the strategy will be a three-fold blasphemy against the knowledge of God:
1. To blaspheme His name - The knowledge of God. (2 Corinthians 10:3-5)
2. To blaspheme His tabernacle - The New Jerusalem. (Revelation 21:3)
3. To blaspheme those who dwell in heaven - The great cloud of witnesses. (Hebrews 12:1)
C. The Anti-Christ will be an oratory genius and visionary who will proclaim blasphemies. I believe that he will use the
full resources of the 10 nation-confederation and the realm of darkness to fill the earth with these blasphemies. The Anti-
Christ will use money, technology, media propaganda, entertainment, education, marketplace, etc, to have a global
culture of blasphemies against God.
D. The 2nd part of the strategy will be global persecution to exterminate:
1. The church – Messianic and Gentile believers.
2. Israel – unredeemed / natural Israel.
“Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman (unredeemed
Israel) who gave birth to the male Child. Revelation 12:13
“And the dragon was enraged with the woman (unredeemed Israel), and he went to make war (persecution)
with the rest of her offspring (the Church – Messianic and Gentile believers), who keep the commandments
of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” Revelation 12:17
VI. THE GLOBAL PRAYER MOVEMENT: RESISTING ANTI-CHRIST – REVELATION 13:9-10
“If anyone has an ear, let him hear (a call to take heed to the wisdom of the Lord). He who leads into
captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience
and the faith of the saints.” Revelation 13:10-11
A. Though many saints will loose their lives for the gospel, the Lord will not leave His church defenseless under the
rage of Satan. The Lord will have a church ready during the Great Tribulation that will partner with Jesus in the releasing
of glory and the judgments of God.
B. The church of Jesus will be called to resist the Anti-Christ and His government but the Lord warns the church that
we NOT resist the Anti-Christ by natural means. The wisdom of the Lord is that we not resist by means of taking prisoners
and “guerrilla warfare” but rather by using the weapons of the kingdom of God which are spiritual and mighty through God.
C. It will be through patient endurance that the church will inherit the promises of God. It is through patient endurance
that we will wage true spiritual warfare. The global prayer movement will produce a red hot on fire church, filled with the
power and the wisdom and fragrances of Christ’s character
D. I believe that the emerging global prayer movement is a training ground and the vehicle for the Holy Spirit
resistance at the end of the age. The global prayer movement is the direct antithesis of the global satanic worship
movement of the Anti-Christ and the False Prophet.
E. Overcoming the dragon:
1. The blood of the Lamb – the reality of the redemption of Christ
2. The word of their testimony – the Apostolic Gospel
3. Loving not their lives to the death – martyrdom
“And they overcame him (the Dragon) by the blood of the Lamb (the reality of the redemption of Christ in
their lives) and by the word of their testimony (the Apostolic Gospel), and they did not love their lives to the
death (martyrdom).” Revelation 12:11
F. The two witnesses will directly oppose the Anti-Christ.
“And I will give power to my two witnesses, (two Jewish Prophets) and they will prophesy one thousand two
hundred and sixty days (3.5 years of the Great Tribulation), clothed in sackcloth (fasting, weeping, mourning).
These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands standing before the God of the earth (stand in the
place of prayer). And if anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their
enemies. And if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this manner. These have power to shut
heaven, so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy; and they have power over waters to turn them
to blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues, as often as they desire.” Revelation 11:3-6
“When they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit (Anti-Christ) will make
war against them, overcome them, and kill them.” Revelation 11:7
G. Prophetic Preaching -
“Blow the trumpet (prophetic preaching and warning) in Zion, and sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let
all the inhabitants of the land tremble; for the day of the LORD is coming, for it is at hand: a day of darkness
and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, like the morning clouds spread over the mountains. A
people come, great and strong, the like of whom has never been; nor will there ever be any such after them,
even for many successive generations.” Joel 2:1-2
H. Desperate times require desperate measures -
“Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children and nursing babes;
let the bridegroom go out from his chamber, and the bride from her dressing room. Joel 2:11-16
I. The word of God is filled with prophetic decrees and prayers that will be released, resisting the Anti-Christ kingdom.
These prayers will ultimately culminate in the 2nd coming of the Lord which will dismantle the Anti-Christ kingdom.
“Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before
the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And
they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals …” Revelation 5:8-9
