THE BRIDEGROOM IS COMING –MATTHEW 25:6
The night watch is a historic indicator of the coming of the Bridegroom. The raising up of the night watch all over the globe is
a prophetic signpost, telling God’s people and those in Babylon to come out of Babylon and go out to meet the Bridegroom.
“And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’” Matthew 25:6
“And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest
you receive of her plagues.” Revelation 18:4
I. THE NIGHT WATCH IS A PROPHETIC INDICATOR
A. The midnight hour is the hour in which the Lord returns
1. Night and day ministries in the earth serve as large flags being raised in the earth across the globe. A flag is raised as
the Lord raises up night watches all over the earth. These banners are waving across the earth saying, “This is the hour.
The Bridegroom is coming. Go out to meet Him.”
2. The night watch is a prophetic signpost to those paying attention. As the Lord is raising up night watches across the globe,
He is saying, “Pay attention! My Son is coming.”
3. Throughout history, there have been night watches. In those generations, the coming of the Bridegroom was not related
to His second advent, but the establishing of a specific aspect of His kingdom in a particular generation. I believe this is
the generation of His second coming and the release of the fullness of the Holy Spirit power.
II. GOD’S CHOSEN BRIDEGROOM KING - PSALM 2
A. The nations are raging
1. The revelation of Psalm 2 is key to apostolic boldness.
2. The nations are in absolute disarray, drunk with confusion and filled with anger against God, as evidenced by the
increase of sorcery, murder, immorality and theft. There is an escalation of violence and perversion in the earth. There is
much strife and rebellion against the kingdom of God.
3. Daniel 7:2 Daniel had a vision in the night. The first thing he saw was the great sea. Often, in the Bible, the great sea
speaks of the nations. He sees four winds coming from the heavens, stirring the nations. Activity is taking place in the
nations. If you pay attention to current events just a little bit, you notice a stirring, a restlessness in the nations.
4. In Revelation 17:1 we see the great harlot sitting on the waters (nations). The great conflict at the end of the age is about
who will possess the nations of the earth as their inheritance. All this squabbling, striving, war, greed, theft, and violence
are about who will possess the earth as their inheritance.
5. Empires, such as Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, and Rome rose and fell throughout history. Their goal was to conquer the
earth. They wanted to have the biggest and the best. One of the greatest boasts of the British Empire was the sun never
set on the British Empire.
6. Adolph Hitler and Nazi Germany’s goal was to establish a thousand year reign in the earth.
7. In Psalm 46:10, the Lord addresses the futility of the nations and tells them to cease their striving, come to the knowledge
of God, and recognize that He alone will be exalted in the earth and over the nations. “Be still and know that I am God.”
Other translations say, “Cease striving and know that I am God.”
8. In the context of this Psalm, Jesus is addressing the strife that is going on in the nations. Jesus is standing in front of the
nations saying, “Stop it! Stop your striving. It’s useless.” The verse goes on to say “I will be exalted in the earth.” He’s saying,
“All of your striving, fighting and wars are an exercise of futility, because My Father, Who will gain possession over the
earth, has already decided Who will inherit the hearts of the nations.”
B. The Divine decree
“Yet I have set My King, On My holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: The LORD has said to Me, ‘You are
My Son, today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the
ends of the earth for Your possession’” Psalm 2:6-8
“For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven. I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I
will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the
heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High’” Isaiah 14:13-14
1. The hill speaks of the government of God, the place where God dwells.
2. Christ is the only rightful heir of the kingdoms of the earth (Psalm 2:8), and He invites His Bride to rule and reign with Him
(Revelation 2:18). He is going to take His Bride to rule with Him in partnership.
3. Ephesians 1:17 “…the hope of His calling…” The calling of Jesus is that He would have the nations as His inheritance. The
hope is that Jesus wants to partner with us to have the nations as our inheritance. The thing that will give us hope is
recognizing our God is King and has called us into partnership.
4. This decree of God was fulfilled at the ascension of Christ.
a. Matthew 28:18-19
b. Daniel 7:13-14
C. The decree of the Father is final; it cannot be reversed
1. The decree of the Father is a direct judgment against the enemy.
2. Isaiah 14; Ezekiel 28 Satan did not want to become God. Rather he wanted the place reserved only for the Bride and
Jesus. Satan wanted to ascend the hill of the Lord. He is now using world leaders in his attempt to accomplish this goal. At
the end of the age, as the anti-christ is raised up and established, Satan will try one last time to usurp the Kingship of Jesus.
D. Jesus ascends the hill of the Lord
1. The decree of God is fulfilled at the ascension of Jesus.
2. This decree was part of the eternal plan of God before the foundations of the earth. Jesus was slain before the foundations
of the earth (Revelation 13:8). The Father had a plan all along. “The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His
heart to all generations.” Psalm 33:11
E. Dominion was given to humanity in partnership with God
1. Adam and Eve were given dominion over the earth in partnership and intimate fellowship with God. They had dominion
through communion. After the fall, humanity lost their authority, the title deed to planet earth. However, God never lost
possession of the earth (Psalm 24:1).
2. The Father gives all dominion of the created order to the Man Christ Jesus.
“…All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth” Matthew 28:18
“Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty. The LORD mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you
gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD
of hosts, He is the King of glory” Psalm 24:7-10
“I was watching in the night visions, and behold, One like the Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven!
He came to the Ancient of Days. And they brought Him near before Him. Then to Him was given dominion and
glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting
dominion, which shall not pass away, And His kingdom the one which shall not be destroyed” Daniel 7:13-14
F. Jesus lays hold of the title deed of the created order
“Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne” (Revelation 5:7)
1. Title deed
2. Inheritance
3. The unfolding of the mystery of God throughout history.
