Joseph of Arimathea asks for His body                                                                        Day After  - week of two Sabbaths
Pilate gave approval after confirming He is dead
                                                                                                                                  Women rested on the Sabbath
Body taken down                                                                                                          Chief Priests asked Pilate for guards at tomb
Fulfilled Scripture not to let body hang overnight                                                          Pilate approved more guards
                                                                                                                                  They sealed the stone
Nicodemus brought spices                                                                                            Set a watch/guard
Body wrapped in linen and spices        
His body laid amid myrrh SOS 4:6

Buried in new grave in garden
     Made His grave with the wicked
In a nicely kept garden (gardener)

Great stone rolled over doorway
     Tomb “sealed” in a way that resemble “wells” - Genesis 29:3, 8

Mary Magdelen and other Mary watched opposite of grave
They went home and prepared spices and ointments



--Historically at Jesus’ crucifixion and burial Joseph and Nicodemus joined with His professed disciples

--So important is the sacrificial offering of Christ in the sight of God that He is still represented as being in the very act of pouring out His blood for the
